Very common out here in Sacramento, I would estimate about 5-10% of the younger couples are mixed. It does appear to be a bit of an age issue, you rarely see it with couples over 40.

No, I wouldn't contend a causal relationship between racism and ignorance. But there is definitely a strong correlation. And this is not an effort to justify attacks, but a "substantive argument" based on research and statistics.

Be that as it may, but I rather trust psychology than statistics; statistics reduce humanity to just numbers (hard data).
 Humanity (like art) is much more than just concrete evidence.

Yes they do, but I take particular interest in those psychological studies that operationally define the behaviors examined and control for confounding variables.

I've never noticed people being scared becasue of an interracial couple. Maybe it's becasue I've never thought anything of it so I don't realize that it makes other uncomfortable?
