by the way, the utopian ideal has been tried many many times. Its utter failure has been documented repeatedly for more than a hundred years in the United States.

Seeing what greed and capitalism has done to this nation and how the nature of community values have been obliterated by the almighty dollar I have found the goal of creating a micronation to be a key for finding like minded individuals who are looking to create a community where loyalty, honor and faith lead a community of equality and cooperation and where culture and education are paramount in building an independant and sustainable society.
If anyone else is interested in these goals I invite them to discuss it or to join The Socialist Republic of Zandrovia as they are currently seeking more dedicated citizens with a goal of creating such a community.
This is why it would work and or how it would work. Since everyone that joins that type of society they believe in the princples and rules around it.
They arent forced into this society and join it willingly know work and "money" are not the goal and everything is shared and "equally". I question how they might enforce that but assuming the most are "carefree" living they might ignore the differences some might aquire.
Anyway for some reason these people who think like this are in our current government and believe via reeducation of our children that this is how America should be run via the government and it's power via force. Since we dont all agree with this style of living, liberty should be choice of a nation, individual communities can be created like the ones socialist are thinking about but without the govenrment. Government should be smaller have limited power and have no say over economic and social decisions other then murder and stealing and basic land laws and basic environmental concerns. In a capitalist country you can have the socialist create there little communities not asking the govenrment to provide for them and provide for themselves which is what we always wanted them to do in the first place.

Firstly, I'm not some micronation crazy. I merely wished someone well that's attempting to think outside the box.
There are problems in every country. I'm a loyal American and a Marine. I would never leave this country for love nor money. I've spent my entire adult life in Military service. I did 2 back-to-back tours in Iraq. Just shortly before my scheduled retirement (while still in Iraq) the jeep I was in hit a land mine. I lost both legs just slightly above the knees.
Yesterday, my prosthetic legs arrived and for the first time in over a year, I am able to walk again.
Firstly, I'm not some micronation crazy. I merely wished someone well that's attempting to think outside the box.
There are problems in every country. I'm a loyal American and a Marine. I would never leave this country for love nor money. I've spent my entire adult life in Military service. What if you purchased land in an unincorporated area of a state? There are several states with large unincorporated areas. Also, purchasing a ghost town might be a possibility too.
There's a website that lists ghosts towns for sale. There are groups of people that are committed to bringing about a new society in some of those ghost towns.
I admit, the notion is a romantic one that harkens back to the days of the wild west, or early days of explorers off to discover new lands.
It would be wonderful to establish a society where everyone helped their neighbor and worked together with one another to create a community that was safe to raise a family in, safe to grow old in, and was free of crime, gangs, etc.
I really wish you well with this. Lord knows the world as a whole is very lost. Things such as compassion, empathy, and loyalty do not even seem to exist anymore. I'm tired of the me me me generation, the give it to me free mob, and the as long as I've got mine who gives a sh*t about you lot.
I'm tired of wars. I'm tired of hatred among fellow citizens. I'm tired of the wide degree of separation between the haves and have-nots. I'm tired of watching helplessly as families go homeless, as the elderly go without food, as the sick go without medical care, and the hungry without food.
Does no one in this world still want to make a difference anymore?
These issues are EXACTLY why I joined the micronational effort...we need to make a difference and I for one want to be part of a community that strives to be just what you described.
Your points about compassion and loyalty are so true...they are woefully lacking and we want to find people committed to changing that. People who care about what is happening to their neighbors and who simply want to live a peaceful life, pulling together so that we can all live in peace...and I am amazed at how many people will hate you for that, it is kind of sad but just proves the point that we need such an example community even more.
As far as your suggestions, I think they are good ideas, as I said, this is a decision that the citizens as a whole will make and we would love to have your input if you are ever so inclined.
