Nobody should be comfortable with corruption but I don't see this as a Dem/Rep thing and thinks it's a silly question.

If a republican politician is in trouble, the news goes out of their way to point out his or her political party. If a democrat politician is in trouble, well they try to either not mention his party or gloss over it and hope people don't notice which party they belong to.
