I was flown back to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where a surgeon called Roger Grey carried out a tracheotomy. That operation saved my life but took away my voice.

Hawking biography

Thanks but you can keep that government run health care system. If they wanted to pull the plug on a smart guy like Steven Hawkin, most of the rest of us would be screwed.

Doesn't Hawkin live in a country with a government run healthcare system? How would Hawkin have fared in Texas?

I suppose, if I were spending other peoples money, I wouldn't have any consideration of the costs either... wouldn't really matter if its a lost cause.

This is the Republican position.

But that was NEVER in the current health reform bill. Nobody ever HAD to do anything. That was completely fabricated by the opposition. It was simply offering people funding for a discussion about end of life care and their choices, so their families do not have to face making these decisions during times of grief and stress.

One person who rallies against health reform (now it's insurance reform) is Betsy McCaughey who keeps saying "this is in the bill" and then, when asked to produce it, can't seem to find the page to which she is referring. If the video from the Daily Show wasn't so long, I'd post it.

Well, I came back.. here's the link in case anyone wants to watch it. She keeps saying that the bill outlines mandatory consultations every 5 years and Jon Stewart simply asks her to show him where that is stated. She tells him it's clearly written on pagess 425 to 430. So he finally presses her to show him the pages and she can't find them. I watched the original broadcast. No wonder they call it the Comedy Channel.
