Someone should organize everyone to wear religious articals or carry pictures of Jesus. Flood the place with them. The left fights against anything that represents what is good and decent in an attempt to bring others down to their level.
The narrow-mindedness of this post is pathetic.

Obviously you're not very acquainted with the world of art and the world of religion.
The only art practiced for centuries in Europe was religious. Pretty much until the end of the dark ages that you seem to want again.
Religious art was the only artwork allowed.
It wasn't by choice.

The tacky Menorah is right next to the unimpressive National Christmas Tree and unbelievably lame Pageant of Peace display.

Christ is an integral part of YOUR Christmas. He isn't any part at all of MINE. Get lost with your We Own the Holiday garbage.

By the way, yes. I would happily volunteer to bulldoze the National Christmas Tree and Menorah at a moment's notice. There are run-down aliigator-wrestling tourist traps along Florida roadsides that are better done.

They were paid to by the church. The church, having somehow amassed great wealth while ordinary people groveled and scraped their way through lives of abject poverty and suffering, was one of the few institutions that could afford to commission art, and artists do like to eat just as much as the next fellow.

Why can't non-Christians just let the Christians have their holiday in peace? Why do so many people have hate? Does anyone make demands of Jews on Yom Kippur? Muslims on Ramadan?

Memo to bigots: Let us celebrate our holiday. Christmas involves Jesus Christ by definition.

Memo to retailers: Christmas isn't about consumerism. Please.

Could you start the Christmas music after the first of November this year??

Yeah, that's the problem. Way too many Christians HAVE no respect for other faiths and don't want any to be shown. It's all about THEM, THEM, THEM, THEM, THEM, and only THEM, THEM, THEM, THEM, THEM, !!!

I'm sure we will just as soon as a bunch of lame-brain Muslims try to claim that there's a war on Eid or Ramadan. Good thing not all Christians are such spoiled little brats as some have become.

As a Christian myself, technically there is nothing in the Bible that says anything about Christmas. It is a man made holiday.

It is believed from New Testament writings that Jesus was born sometime in the winter months. Man picked December 25.

No where does Jesus tell us to celebrate his birth. We are though instructed to remember his death, burial and resurection (BTW, there is no mention of Easter either).

The celebration of the life and death of Jesus is not meant to be only two days a year.

BTW, my family does celebrate Christmas, but as a family holiday, like Thanksgiving, etc..

I realize this post is more suited for the religious forums.

Bad, as in such a huge improvement over the disgrace and disaster that went before.

Which should tell you that 99% of its sales are going to come from right-wing propaganda groups buying up bulk loads that they will send out as "free gifts" to those who make a minimum $50 contribution.

So it's that time of year...the season of Rightists trotting out their phony, fake, not real, made up by a right wing slobbering talk show host, "War on Christmas."

So your religion will go down the tubes because you can't have your plastic Jesus??!!
How WEAK!!!!!

No, Virginia, you can have your "Christmas"...you had it last year and you'll have it this year so try to quit mewling and puking and whining like a baby.

You STILL will be able to eat and drink yourself sick, ignore your family to watch football, spend yourself into bankruptcy, have your deadly "domestic" assaults, and turn your kids into greed crazed little azholes......so what are ya worried about????

I do, and for exactly the same reason that there shouldn't be a Christmas tree at the White House (or any other government facility): because religious symbols don't belong there. You're not going to get any more equality than that; no religious symbols anywhere, at any time. Period.

As to your right to celebrate your holiday, this annual nonsense about Christians being discriminated against is just that. Nonsense. You're free to observe your holiday. Observe it until you've had so much Christmas that it's coming out of your ears. Just don't push it in anyone else's face, that's all. Show a little consideration in a country made up of people with a variety of backgrounds. Yeah, I know; that's a tall order. But you should be able to manage it, if you try.

P.S. Tradition is such a comforting thing, isn't it? What would the last three months of the year be, if we didn't have our annual "Anti-Christmas" thread?
