I think they were trying to say minorities are dangerous and they feel the need to protect themselves and their family from those dangerous minorities.
who cares, it is not illegal to be a racist in the USA, yet.
Being a racist is not illegal, however, certain behaviors which are clearly motivated by racist beliefs can be very illegal.
I don't care if someone is a white nationalist all their life as long as they DO NOT take actions to hurt other people, or limit their rights, as a result of those beliefs.
Actually, I'm surprised that white nationalists deny that they are white nationalists so much of the time.

I have biases when it comes to race. Isn't it human nature to have preferences?
Ozzie, everyone as I mentioned has prejudices but they are not always or maybe not at all directed to race. they may be religious, may be against a certain look, like skinny or fat, or a certain part of our country, but that is bigoted or prejudice, not racist.

I look at it this way, people will be racist if they so choose to be, it does not mean that I am.
no matter the race, there are bigots in each and every race in the USA. for the time being it is legal to be racist, but it sure does look like it is fast becoming illegal to be a racist unless you are not white.
