Someone took issue with my statement that people who support child molestation should burn in hell. I stand by it and believe the majority of people do to.
There is NO heaven or hell, but ONLY the heaven or hell we create for each other here on this planet.
Child molesters should be locked up forever.
Child killers should be executed.

What I'm curious of is this... I only went as far as making my communion in the catholic religion, which involved confession to absolve my sins.
Now - if a child molester repented, confessed, and accepted Jesus, would he go to Heaven or Hell? From what I remember, if you confess and accept Jesus, you go to heaven?

Grand pronouncements on an internet forum do not erase centuries of religious history and documentation followed by billions of people. Keep thinking there are no heaven and hell. You are certainly in the minority.....You'll surely find out one day if you're right or wrong.
As far as child molesters go, its not for me to decide whether they end up in heaven or hell, but if I had to choose, it would be hell for sure.

Well, as a former Religous Education teacher (don't laugh/choke/or pee yourself) I can say that the Catholic church does believe that confession does 'clear the slate' however, it is not good enough to state your sin. You have to make some kind of restitution. Generally that would mean saying prayers and promising never to do it again - but thats only good for little sins like cussing, lying or cheating on your algebra exam.
For the big sins like murder or rape one must first confess to the priest (obviously) but the priest would not grant absolution until the sinner turned themselves into the police, served thier time, attempted to make some kind of restitution to the victim and then of course never repeat the crime.
Now, it is my understanding that christian fundementalists believe that proclaiming jesus as your savior is enough for god to forgive one of ones sins regardless of what they may be. Maybe a christian fundie will pop up and clarify that for us.

Well, if its up to me to decide then yes -- they ought to rot in hell but only after suffering more earthly hells in prison first.
