I think anyone who voted for Bush should pay a $14,750 poll tax.
I saw another thread regarding a poll tax for democrats. That got me to thinking about how much the Republicans have cost us over the last 8 years. The war in Iraq has cost 915.1 billion. 62,040,606 Americans voted for Bush in 2004. If we allocate the cost per person who voted for Bush and therefore the war in Iraq, that comes to 14,750 per person. My math is a little bad when doing numbers in the billions so I am willing to knock it down to an even 14,000 per person.
Maybe before those that voted for the war in Iraq are trusted to vote again they should pay the tab for their mistake.

Awesome!!!! Do we get money for NOT voting for ANY Bush, EVER? Because believe me we should be rich!!!!!
Except we will never see it, and our children will still be in debt. :-(

I knew it. Some Dem had to come up with a sure way to keep we of the other side from voting in 2010. Now you have done it. I wonder when your Dem Congressman will introduce something like this for fast passage.
Don't you realize that the Dems didn't put up anybody to run against Bush. Surely you can see what that was hiding under that mop of $400 per cut head of hair. Kerry was and is nothing but a pure socialist and that is the reason I stopped voting for Dems for President in 1972. How many non-socialists have they nominated since that year? None that I know of but the one we finally got is the worst of the bunch and if you don't find a way to keep me from voting against him in 2012 I will sure do it again.

No idea. You're the one doing the math.
I'd also be curious to know what impact issueing fines for an "incorrect" vote would have on future voting turn outs.
Given that from an outsiders perspective the whole thing appears to be decided by the lobby group with the most money these days anyway are you planning on working out a mathematical formula that financially penalizes them when they get it "wrong"?
