I did read it, they had a ban on burgers except cooked well (because of the Jack in the Box issue I'd assume). The proposal was you could get one with ID and reading a waiver. Did I miss something?
Even if that is the law..so what! If you want undercooked burgers then cook at it your own house. These people saying they don't care about eating undercooked beef will be the first people to hire a lawyer and sue if they are hospitalized due to infection with E coli. When they have mounting hospital bills, they all come to the realization that it's better to sue and help offset those costs.
So we shouldn't talk about how to safely prepare foods, or which foods might be easily contaimnated by potentially deadly bacteria, because the government might get the idea that we want them to ban those foods?
I can't believe this paranoia about people offering, receiving and disseminating information.
I believe the paranoia comes mostly from people who are living or have lived in nanny states such as New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, California.
No there was ban on any burger except ones that were cooked well done.

Since the mid-1990s, hamburgers in South Carolina have been cooked one way: well done.
You couldn't get one cooked rare. You're telling me to the read the article? Perhaps you should. The proposal was to relax that law as long as you provide ID and read a waiver. The fact that you couldn't get one cooked rare to begin with is ridiculous, having to provide ID to get a burger cooked the way you want is equally ridiculous.
Wow, this is right out of the movie "Demoliton Man" which was supposed to be a satire on how bad government can be if you let it get too big. In that movie, fast food, sugar, sex, and all music except commercial jingles were banned. And it was funny, watching it, But here we are on the brink of living it. Crazy.
I'm reminded of the great line by P. J. O'Rourke: "Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys."

Did you bother reading the article or did you just read the headline?

Of course not, nor did yet another poster. The content of this thread is about not reading articles, it's no longer about burgers.
