That's great.

How is that "great"? 1 year into the recession and only 1 % spent? THAT is what I call failure. And no, it was 30% as of last month or so.

More than 1% has been spent.
The report of 30,000 jobs was based on accounting of less than 1% of the stimulus.

More complete reports are due later this month.

I love how people on this board are so eager to advertise their ignorance of the subjects they post about.

Your first sentence I address below.
Your second sentence has no footing in reality or anything I wrote.
Your 3rd sentence is based on your nonsense 2nd sentence.
And your 4th sentence disagrees with your second sentence.
Great post there.

Its great that of less than 1% reported, 30,000 jobs were created.
If that same level of effectiveness is kept throughout, that is MORE THAN 3 MILLION JOBS.

Which is in line with projections by the CBO.

What does that mean?

I'm trying to correct the usual right-wing madness that infects some of our posters who spin without actually using their minds, such as taking a positive report about the stimulus (30,000 jobs for less than 1%) and trying to convince people that is a bad thing.

Its only a bad thing if you are incapable of doing basic math.

Got that wrong too. Check your math:

Quote:
"It is too soon to draw any global conclusions from this partial and preliminary data, as it reports on just $16 billion of the $339 billion in Recovery Act efforts before September 30th, but the early indications are quite
positive," said Jared Bernstein, chief economist for Vice President Joe Biden.

That's less than it costs to train, equip and deploy a soldier or a policeman.

Very true but our Dem Congress critters have been against training or equipping soldiers for a long time so I guess that is why they wanted to do it the way they did.

Have you ever heard who actually wrote the stimulus bill that just popped up all of a sudden? Since nobody in Congress had read it it must have come from somewhere else. I think that it was written by the Apollo Alliance which is headed by Jeff Jones, one of the Weather Underground members of the 60s. Why would Oba mao be so excited to have it passed by next Friday, back then or we will have over 8% unemployed? I think we both know the answer to that one.

the roughly $16 billion worth of stimulus contracts that were awarded directly by federal agencies, of which about $2.2 billion has been spent so far.
That is from the second paragraph of the link I responded to.
Here is that link again for you.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/16/us...er=rss&emc=rss

2.2 billion is 0.002% (1/5 of 1%) of 787 billion

Any other basic math or reading questions?
