Per Obamas OWN website. Recovery.gov

30,383 jobs have been created, when Obama promised 3,500,000 jobs (less than 1% promised)

And while it shows that a good percentage of the bills havent been paid for,

It also shows that a large percentage of the planned contracts are started already, 70% started, and 25% of them completed already and thereby those employed individuals are already unemployed again..

Colorado, one of the nations lowest unemployment numbers, got the most jobs (4695)
Rhode Island, with the nations highest unemployment numbers, got the least (6)

There is even a pretty cool map showing a dot with every job creation at Where is The Money Going? (http://www.recovery.gov/transparency/pages/home.aspx?ZipCode - broken link)=

Check out your own zip code and lets brag about the jobs created where you live, my zip code.. ZERO..

Very cool website, maybe Obama should have applied for a job as a web administrator instead of president, it seems he can oversee the creation of some awesome sites much better than he can oversee job creation.

How many people would consider this a success? Remember, this is Obamas own website created to show the wonderful success of the bill with 1% employed promised.

Wow, I thought many would be talking about this one, considering that liberals and Obama like to keep repeating that most of the "spending" hasnt taken place already.

Figures show that 25% of the projects are already completed, and most of the projects already well on their way. With a job increase of 30,000, wouldnt this mean about 120,000 jobs will be created in total from the stimulus plan, a far cry from their 3,500,000 projected.

Arent those who were employed by the 25% of the projects already completed, already unemployed?

It seems like there are some complications in determining just how many jobs have been created by the stimulus.

Quote:
Uncovering how many jobs stimulus created is critical to the debate about the Recovery Act's value. Critics argue that the mammoth funding simply represents more government spending and is not effectively being used to create jobs. But proponents say stimulus is a crucial shot in the arm for the economy, and that the labor market would have fallen further without it.

But the enormity of the stimulus bill leaves some experts saying it will be impossible to accurately portray the data. The sheer size of the reporting is dumbfounding: Tens of thousands of recipients will file reports after receiving stimulus funds from one of 28 government umbrella agencies, or from one of countless agencies from the 50 states.

Another worthy cause.

$2.3 million in federal stimulus money is going to pay for Tampa Bay area beauty school tuition - St. Petersburg Times

Quote:
More than $2.3 million in federal economic stimulus grants have gone to eight Tampa Bay area cosmetology and massage schools to pay tuition for the hairdressers, masseuses and nail technicians of tomorrow.

Chad Malm, owner of Salon Jack in Tampa, said he gets as many as six applicants every week. There are plenty of hairdressers, he said, and using stimulus money to put students through beauty school is ridiculous.

"It's not for everybody to be jumping in and wasting tax dollars," he said. "What, are you kidding me?"
When they become taxpayers, i.e., have a job, maybe it will be worth it.
