Calling 911 and reporting a false problem is wrong. I'm not sure what the penalties for that are though.
I understand the balloon could have damaged an aircraft. I'm not sure what the law is on that.
Bottom line people are getting too angry and riled up for nothing. Let the DA handle the situation and let it go. If the farmer wants to sue, then let him sue. It's that simple. Get over it. It's like when somebody plays a prank and someone gets mad for a day. Well that person will eventually get over it. It didn't happen to you. So let life move on.

LOL Anger management? For a balloon joke? Are you kidding me. OMG the people of the forum are getting more and more spiteful.
No, not for the balloon "joke," wisea$$. It's his own fault that he opened up his life to scrutiny by the media and the authorities. Live by the publicity, die by the publicity.
There is suspicion that he abused his wife. There was a 911 call where his wife appeared to be hurt, but she refused to implicate her husband. Did you see the video where he released the balloon and screamed at his wife and then kicked in anger? Several of his acquaintances have said that he's a hothead. And his son was apparently so afraid of his father's wrath that he vomited on national TV.
This man has a pattern of behavior that lead me to believe he needs anger management.

You are entitled to your opinion, with which I disagree.
I expected to hear that the child was dead, crushed and broken. Or if the balloon had landed on a highway there might have been numerous accidents. Then I watched the family lie on cable TV. I read that this was planned for at least 2 weeks and that the entire family knew what was going on.
The mother was very convincing---I really believed she feared for her child's life. Maybe I'll lol tomorrow or the next day.
I feel that too many people are taking the Angela Lansberry approach to this problem. It is easy to point fingers and insult others' short-comings but have you looked at yourself and your short-comings?

They lied on cable TV. Is that a crime? You assume the boy was crushed and broken. That is your problem for assuming. More than half of this problem are the public and their hyper imagination and sentimentality.

They called 911 and they lied.
Then they lied again, on cable TV.
Sounds like they lie a lot.
Maybe CPS can provide FYI that will change my feeble mind.

The way that you defend this lying, sensation seeking idiot is unbelievable. Are you related to this crackpot?
