I know. Isn't it a shame? So far the only country government run health care has really worked in is Taiwan. But they have to borrow money from foriegn banks to pay for it. Is that what we want to end up doing?

I don't know where you get the idea you stated above. Let's first differentiate between what you call "government run healthcare" and "universal healthcare". Canada, for example, has universal healthcare available to its citizens at approximately 50% of the cost per capita that healthcare in the U.S. is. Note: Our healthcare is not universal in that 15% of our population or 47 million people aren't covered. Healthcare in Canada is not "government run" in that physicians continue to work for themselves and hospitals remain private entities too. The system works very much like Medicare in our country is working--with one difference. Canadian Medicare covers everyone.

Now in the United Kingdom there truly is "government run" healthcare. Physicians work directly for the government. Hospitals are all state-run institutions. This is a going too far. I am unaware of any proposal currently being made now that would result in a "government take over".

If America does adopt a system of universal healthcare it will place itself in the ranks of every modern nation in this world. These include the European Countries, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Japan.

Don't let the facts get in your way though. Keep screeching about government run healthcare and how it doesn't work. Try to tell people its government run even when its not. Above all, claim it doesn't work even when everyone gets coverage at half the per capita cost we're paying in America. Yes, you make about as much sense as an ape screaming in the jungle.

Where I got it was PBS night before last. They reviewed all the government run healthcare programs around the globe and although they were obviously pushing for Obamacare it was also obvious to those of us that know how to think for ourselves that it doesn't work.

If you are not aware you are not looking very hard. There are videos online with Obama himself stating that the long term goal is government run healthcare. I don't know how much more obvious that could be. Of course unless he's waffling again.

I know people in both the UK and Canada and they hate their government run healthcare and the waiting times. I go to the VA and my next appt is 6 months out. The VA is also government run. There are people at Dorn VA having to get hotel rooms to see a doctor. You obviously aren't looking into this very hard, or at least not with an open mind.

Most Patients Happy With German Health Care : NPR

Quote:
Mention European health care to an American, and it probably conjures up a negative stereotype — high taxes, long waiting lines, rationed care.
It's not that way in Germany. Very little tax money goes into the system. The lion's share comes, as in America, from premiums paid by workers and employers to insurance companies.
Further down it says,
Quote:
The health care system that took such good care of Sabina is not funded by government taxes. But it is compulsory. All German workers pay about 8 percent of their gross income to a nonprofit insurance company called a sickness fund. Their employers pay about the same amount. Workers can choose among 240 sickness funds.
Basing premiums on a percentage-of-salary means that the less people make, the less they have to pay. The more money they make, the more they pay. This principle is at the heart of the system. Germans call it "solidarity." The idea is that everybody's in it together, and nobody should be without health insurance.

Sorry to burst your bubble......................................

NOT!!!

Obamacare IS NOT universal health care or universal health insurance.

I know what PBS program you're talking about and they definitely weren't pushing for "Obamacare." Obamacare is nothing but a bailout for insurance companies.

LMFAO NPR = Liberal Left Wing.

Obamacare = Insurance Company Bailout? Please explain.

Being that healthcare costs rising have more to do with illegal aliens going to emergency rooms to get healthcare on my dime, and no TORT reform than Insurance companies. Insurance companies like all companies are in business to make money. If nobody controls these lawsuits and millions of illegals straining our current system insurance companies have no choice but to bring up costs to cover this. You are a sheep if you belive the insurance companies are responsible for this. Check out this video and note this is only two illegals. If you take the millions of illegals and multiply this by 1% it equals a major strain on our current healthcare system. How much more proof do you need?

Link to an example of the truth.

YouTube - The Public Plan Deception - It's Not About Choice

I'm sure you will claim FOX news made this up but the truth is the truth and the truth is Obama is a socialist attempting to take over the American Healthcare system.

And I'm not even going to go into the millions of jobs that will be lost when the private insurance companies go out of business. Not only will those insurance comapny jobs be lost but hundreds of thousands of others in support related, nursing, administrative, etc. Then there is the effect this will have on our already crippled economy.

Obama is a liar and support Muslims over US Soldiers. He refuses to send re enforcements for our soldiers while many are dying almost daily. The onlt terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11 happened on Obama Bin Ladens watch. Do I also need to quote from his book where he states when the political winds change he will suppor the Muslims? It's a fact. Either you are a communist or just ignorant to the truth. But I'm used to that since moving to SC.

It has also been proven many times over that the majority of the main stream media is led by liberals. Obama Bin Ladens soon to be departing communications advisor admitted to it on the national news. Can't hide that one or blame it on FOX. LMAO If the media was non biased in this country he would never even come close to being elected. I watched it all happen right before my eyes from the democratic convention when Nobody Obama went from nothing, a community originizer to "he's going to be the first black president" after a single speach that wasn't even that good. They started then and kept on pumping until they swayed the truth so far the rest of the shepp went along with it. That and 94% of blacks voted for him. Many for the sole reason of the color of his skin. Pathetic.

I think plenty more jobs will be lost because American businesses are at a disadvantage in where a lot of the burden to provide health care/health insurance is on their shoulders.

There will plenty more jobs created if we had a single payer system. You'd have more people striking out and opening their own small businesses, you'd probably have more businesses hiring more workers because they aren't losing money by offering health insurance, and the list can go on.

Medicare-For-All Will Create 2.6 Million New Jobs, Say CA Nurses | Black Agenda Report

To say we need to have health insurance companies to keep jobs is laughable to say the least. There are plenty of unnecessary jobs in health insurance companies.

I won't even go into this whole Muslim diatribe you went on. It adds nothing to the debate and considering I have Muslim friends and some Muslims in my family, I'm not going to engage in a conversation with someone who has an obvious bias against Muslims.

If you have a problem with the report from NPR, you're welcome to find ANOTHER unbiased description of the German health care system.

How about let the Gov insure the 3.3% of people that need it and leave the rest of us the hell alone? That's what a majority of Americans want. We want reform, we do not want the government to run it........into the ground like Medicare, Medicaid, VA Healthcare and Social Security. Medicare is OK, but it needs policed as does Medicaid. I know this because I work with both. I also suffer from gov run VA Healthcare. Please come to an appointment with me at Dorn. If you like the way things go then by all means keep supporting the socialist takover.
