Death Threats Against Obama Up 400%

Report: Secret Service strained to protect Obama
First of all the word is "RACIST" not "RACIEST"
Second of all, I didn't notice those other posts when I looked in the politics forum when I posted this.
Third of all, I am very critical of Obama and don't agree with him on too many issues, but the DEATH THREATS and INCREASED WHITE NATIONALIST EXTREMISM are clearly race related. Duh.

Why deny this?

What purpose does denying the increased racial tensions since a black man took over serve?

Certain people on this site will always come in and argue in every race related thread...and complain about how those of us who claim racism are actually racist ourselves. Those people will always show their true colors through thinly veiled words that don't mask the true intentions behind those words. To say that people aren't racist or that the internet hasn't given racists a new (much safer) battlefront for their evil fight is not only foolish, but probably a sign of one's own racist beliefs.

I have explained this keep reading.

Again keep reading not denying it just saying all 400% are not racist issues.

See above.

Never said those that claim others are racist are racist themselves so I know that was not directed at me.

Never said that either so again not directed at me.

Certain people will ALWAYS see racism even when it is not there because it is easier to blame others for issues they have. Sorta like Obama blames Bush for all the mistakes HE is making.

It's amazing how you people will deny that race-based hatred and extremism hasn't gotten more mainstream since Obama took office. Just look at these message boards! Race has become a major factor in everything these days.

Why is it that after a president completely wrecked the economy, let the country get attacked, let a city drown, increased the national debt, and all kinds of other major blunders that the death threats increase 400% the MOMENT a black man took office? It hasn't been long enough for his policies to have created that many nutjobs...it's clearly personal with those people. Sure, there are always nuts on all sides who want to kill the president (Lincoln was killed because of the Civil War, Garfield was killed by a religious nutjob "Guiteau then decided that God had commanded him to kill the ungrateful President", McKinley was killed by an Anarchist and we all know the theories about Kennedy) but to deny that a 400% increase is not based in race is foolish. That means there are 500 threats instead of 100 (made up numbers, but the math is accurate)...are you telling me that the majority of those new threats are NOT based in race? How many people HATED Bush's policies? Why did he not receive as many threats? EXPLAIN THAT.

Remember, I did NOT vote for Obama, I've complained about his policies and his methods in promoting them and I am a Navy Veteran and Registered Republican. I voted for Ron Paul in the primary and Bob Barr in the general. I don't agree with Obama on many issues, including Health Care (see my threads started for my opinions on that) and the Bailout. I do, however, see the danger in a presidential assassination and fear for the stability of the country if something were to happen.

Bush had a lot of enemies on the left and the right as well, but his life was not in nearly as much danger as Obama's because his skin was/is white.

Anyone who denies that race plays a role in his increased danger is clearly delusional. The White Power Movement has seen an major increase in activity and recruitment since the Internet took hold on society, so it's only natural that some of them are becoming more bold and extreme.

As he was running, I feared for his safety, now I fear even more. I am actually surprised we've not had a legitimate threat to his life yet, which is a scary notion indeed.
Hogwash..they know he is a socialist bordering on Marxist, and they don't accept that in their Country..nothing to do with the color of his skin..get over that..it's overplayed and done with...

I did not say that it was not a PART of it but most certainly not 400% of it. so please stop suggesting that I said none of it was race based.
I do not believe that the majority is race based I think it is because Obama is pissing off a lot of people on both sides. You have conservatives that dislike his policies because they are to far left and you have libs that dislike his policies because they are not far enough left. With Bush it was never expected from the left that he would move that way at all but with Obama it was so I do believe that is the cause of the increase. Sure Bush pissed people off but mostly the left, Obama is pissing people off on the left, right and in the middle.
What you are saying is most of the increase is due to policy. MANY more people were angry at Bush than are angry at Obama, yet he still has more threats. That would generally mean most of the increase is NOT policy related, but in fact something else. As far as those on the left and center being angry at Obama, hiu\s numbers with liberals and moderates are better than what Bush had with conservatives and moderates. So unless you want to make an argument that those who hate Obama are much more insane than those who hated Bush (considering many more hated Bush as well) I don't think the argument can be made that a major portion of the increase is not due to race.

I can't change your mind, I can only state what I believe to be true and without any really polling of these people we will never know.
