We would be doing blacks a big favor by ending the war on drugs. Get rid of the illegal market it creates and you get rid of a ton of arrests, and also take power away from gangs and thugs who make their living by selling drugs.
The idea I like the most that I have seen so far is:
Legalize marijuana and regulate JUST LIKE ALCOHOL. That keeps thousands of non violent offenders out of prison, saving tax revenue, while creating tax revenue from legalization and taxation. A double shot for the economy. It also keeps non violent weed dealers from ending up with a felony record that ruins any chance they have of getting a good job later in life. We do not need to be ruining lives over a drug that is usually not associated with violence and that is less dangerous to the general public than alcohol.
I would elaborate on other drugs, but marijuana policy is the most important place to start as it is the most widely used drug and would make the biggest impact.
De-regulating mj and similar drugs would be good for everyone.
The reason this will never happen is because prisons are an industry. There are companies that make money leasing their prisons to states. Since money is involved, you can bet your backside nothing will change.
Also, incarcerating generations of young blacks and mexians for nonviolent offenses allows those who try to spout incorrect crime stats (like the claim made at the beginning of this thread) to claim blacks (and mexicans) are inherent criminals and deserve to be penalized.
Lets not also forget that groups from which blacks are political opponents do not wish to see black voting power increase in their areas, so incarceration, or even arrest in some states, keeps young mexicans and blacks off the voter roles for their entire lives. Not even mentioning it ensures there relegation to poverty for their life duration.
Is the creator of this threat aware that although blacks commit more crime on average than whites
1. Blacks and hispanics commit almost entirely all intra racial crime meaning they victimize other blacks and hispanics. Whereas whites commit the overwhelming majority of extra-racial Hate Crimes against non white...which account for 80% of all hate crimes.
2. When poverty is correlated into the statistics, blacks, hispanics and whites (if the same income level) commit nearly the EXACT same amount of crime.
So, if a white middle class guy stereotypes a black or hispanic middle class guy as more than likely a criminal, hes waaaay off his marker, because black middle class offend at the exact same rate as white middle class.
Now if he stereotyped a poor black person as more than likely a criminal, he might be right, but equally as much as if he stereotyped a poor white guy.
At the same time, if a white guy sees ANY black guy and assumes he may be victimized, statistically he is waay in the wrong, because when crossed with extra racial hate crime statistics straight white males are more likely to violently victimize non whites than non whites/gays/muslim are to victimize them.
So you're saying that blacks in poverty commit the same amount of crime as whites in poverty, yet the blacks are a MUCH smaller percentage of population. Gotcha

lots of white guys committ crime also. You should not be any more dissapointed in a black guy engaging in crime than a white guy. We all suffer the same consequence of crime regardless of who committed it.

The difference is, there are more blacks in poverty than there are whites, both grossly and per capita.
Why? Thats an argument for another day.

I assumed the general topic was overall crime, nonviolent and violent. When poverty are accounted for Black/Mexican Violent Crime = White Violent Crime.
Interestingly enough, White non-violent drug crime > Black/Mexican non-violent drug crime statistically. However, blacks and Mexicans are arrested more often, given higher penalties and usually observed more frequently than whites. Theres a New Jersey study where police were claiming that disparities in stopping non-white motorists was because nonwhites speed more often.
It turned out that the whites and nonwhites speed equally as often, only the nonwhite speeders were being stopped 400 times more often than whites. Really hard not to argue stereotype or bias there.

I think it is more of a rant than a debate. The OP asserted that when a black kills he is referred to as a murderer instead of serial killer. I provided evidence of numerous black serial killers.

Yes, you provided evidence of something called an exception. Exceptions arent the rule, they are exceptions.
Saying youd rather be a serial killer than a murderer is like saying youd rather rape kiddies than women...both are equally horrible, and its just silly to try and place one above the other.
