I'm not a criminal, if I'm treated as one will get mad. Even if 99% are thugs you can't assume the other 1% is a thug, this is the problem whites are having. They can't tell who's a gangster and who's not.

Maybe so, but I'm not you. I look at stereotyping not just as a modern day problem. This is an old problem. Blacks have been hated on from day one.
I get mad because at the end of the day, I get affected by it. I get mad because if I don't fit the profile of a thug, then why stereotype me? I get mad because essentially, what someone is saying is "your personal merit is not enough".
Let's be honest - the "violent black brute" is a long- standing stereotype, that has little to nothing to do with any crime statistic. It's really no different than the Mammie or the Jezebel. And considering that the great majority of black people are never charged with any sort of violent offense, I'd have to say that there's no more reason for the average black guy to be mad at another black person who goes to jail on a violence-related charge, than for a white person to be mad at another white person who goes to jail on a violence-related charge.
At the end of the day, we should be mad at racism as well. And regarding a random black person as inferior based on a small subset of other black people, is clearly racist.
I know I would be, if I were Black. It already pisses me off to see people do that even as a White person, so I can imagine it would only frustrate me more if I were the target of those assumptions.

If 99% were thugs I would not blame anyone for stereotyping. Since not even 50% are thugs I would say stereotyping is a problem.

I agree and have said this many times before. It is difficult to tell the difference, so we tend to be wary of all.It may not be right , but I will take being wrong and being called racist over being mugged or killed.

Maybe I'm a bit selfish, I don't like living in a society where I have a high risk of being stereotyped.
as long you don't have a problem with being called racist, stereotype all you want.
