But see, news isnt supposed to be presented like an array of candy or comic books for you to choose from.

Not sure if you know who Ralph Nader is but he put it this way:
Nader told jurors what the FCC has repeatedly said, that it is "a most heinous act"* to use the public's airwaves to slant, distort and falsify the news. "A reporter has a legal duty to act in accordance with the Communications Act of 1934 in addition to their professional responsibility to be accurate, not to be used as an instrument of deception to the audience," Nader testified.

It's a matter of integrity, which cant be legislated, as Fox News apologists are triumphantly telling you.

IOW, in the words of Rev. Johnson (Blazing Saddles (1976)), "Son, you're on your own."

What access are you talking about? You can't just walk in anywhere you want with a press pass and you don't need a permit to be a journalist.I wouldn't care if Cindy Sheehan had her own nascar. Why can't you present a politically biased point of view in any form of media that you wish?

Nobody is making that decision for us.

FOX news is making that decision for themselves. They are responsible for their own content. They have decided to be the corporate sponsor of anti-govt rallies. They have intentionally done so.

This isn't complicated. They developed and marketed the 9/12 and the TEA party protests. In doing so they compromised their journalistic integrity.

If Cindy Sheehan had a show that advocated dissent against the govt I would agree with the govt deciding that the network she hosted on was an opposition group.

I don't think that you realize what you are advocating for. Nobody is arguing against being able to present an opposing view. The whole conversation is regarding whether or not you should be given access to the press pass if you are actively pursing commercial interests in your coverage that depends on opposition.

Are you saying that that Fox News had journalistic integrity before? And so what if they did push an agenda. What if they pushed an agenda you agreed with?Every think tank every non profit charity every church has an agenda and someone in charge is making big bucks for doing a job that someone is willing to pay them for.Are the only legitimate movements ones that nobody is willing to support or finance? That's not very democratic. Most cancer research is corporate sponsored or ''controlled'' should I be anti cancer research?

O.K kids gather 'round for Slippery Slope 101.Once the government starts naming "opposition groups" and deciding who the press is we have a lot more to worry about than journalistic integrity.

Were you as offended when ABC ran Obamas health care infomercial without opposing viewpoints?
Is that journalistic integrity?

Neither FOX nor MSNBC have anything to do with reporting news.
