Of course he is. He uses the excuse of the "election turmoil" in Afghanistan to delay his decision, which gives him the opportunity to calculate the fall-out for Democrats in 2010 should he decide to escalate the war to George Bush levels and beyond. Oh yes, Barack Obama knows quite well how Republicans will pounce on anything closely related to him mimicking George Bush. The 2010 and 2012 elections are at stake, and Obama understands this quite clearly considering his constituency is inarguably anti-war. Politics plays as much, or more, into this decision than anything else. Bet on it.

You would think he could get Soros to make up his mind before more Americans get killed for nothing. Then again, maybe that's not their highest priority. I guess we'll find out after Barry is done campaigning.

He cares more about human lives than Bush ever did.

And don't think that Nobel Booby Prize isn't playing a part in this! Sending 40,000 troops after you were just given this stupid prize would make him look bad in his mind.

This is most image consious administration I've ever seen.

Meamwhile, our boys are dropping like flies.

Even with a million troops, they will still drop like flies.
He who goes into the den of the lion.....
must expect his limbs to go flyin'.

And that goes for both sides.

No. Its called planning and strategy. Something the previous administration failed to do which is why we are in the situation we are currently.
