Where were the police?
The store owner should have been cited for flying the flag improperly.
Why didn't the local VFW or Legion demand he be cited?
This guy, who says he's a veteran just happened to have someone along to record it and then it's posted?
Pardon me if I have questions

The United States Flag Code establishes advisory rules for display and care of the flag of the United States. It is Section 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code (4 U.S.C. § 1 et seq). This is a U.S. federal law, but there is no penalty for failure to comply with it and it is not widely enforced — indeed, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that punitive enforcement would conflict with the First Amendment right to freedom of speech.
Thanks ozzie

If the po-lice had acted as they should have, you wouldn't have the video, delu. Quite obviously, they didn't, so a vet took it down. Good for him!

Evidently people called the TV station instead of the police, DP -- or they called the police first and the police said it wasnt against the law, which it's not, and they didnt like that so they called the TV station, who may have rounded up this vet. In the clip we see the owners are already standing nervously outside. This vet comes charging up -- just happens to have this big Army knife along with him. Did the camera crew encourage him to go home and get it? They knew him, knew he had one? Was he just a guy who happened by who coincidentally had this thing on him, concealed or unconcealed?

I would have respected the vet more if he had he first gone in and spoken privately with the owner first, asked him if he knew the protocol (since it's not a law), etc. If the owner was belligerent, then Plan B, but that's just me.

But it's always better to be gentlemanly first IMO.

Okay. GO PHILS!

No...no...no...., it would have been better if he had first went in, told the perp he had three minutes to pull that down or he would pull it down for him, then after pulling it down called the police and said get over here and check this morons I.D. to make sure he is not a terrorist, then wipe his butt with it and set it on fire.

It would have made great TV, all that and then the cops throw a net over him.

You mean a net over the Mexican illegal of course. A great way to round them up and get them out of the country and make a sort of symbolic gesture. Yes...yes...I approve.

It's not a violation of the law. It's a violation of protocol. The guy who cut down the flag needs care. We shouldn't let our vets (assuming he is one) wander around like he was. He's a danger to himself and the community.
