I'm perplexed at all of the newspaper stories calling someone who takes the Democrat position on social issues and voted for higher taxes "a moderate." If that's a moderate what does a liberal Republican sound like?

Watch out, Mr Crist in Florida - you're next.

There's no liberal wing of the party left, and barely a libertarian wing either, hence the "moderate" and "conservative" labels. My own view is that the moderates are actually more conservative and most of the "conservatives" are more properly called crazed radicals, but hey, that's just me.

And here is the perfect example as to whats wrong with america.

Those who want less government, lower taxes, less intrusion by the government are "crazed radicals"...

Plenty of them use to exist in the northeast. Many still do, they just don't vote Republican anymore. Hence a district that has a 11 point GOP registration advantage voting for Obama.

No way, they exist. I'm fairly liberal, my pops wouldn't identify me as a traditional Repub. But I'm all for limited gov't and limited regulation. Believe in legalization of marijuana, prostitution and civil unions providing all the tax breaks and complete ownership and trademark of the rainbow. I believe in social welfare, just not cradle to grave generational welfare. I advocate researching green and eco-friendly technologies. I love the arts and don't mind taking some public moneys and investing it into the NEA.
