What do you want Congress to do to stimulate job growth?

SIMPLE:

1. repeal NAFTA/CAFTA/GATT...we have lost 60 million jobs since December 1993 when Nafta was passed.

2. severely increase import tarrifs.... under nafta/cafta/gatt we got rid of most imort tarrifs, since then most if not all products that consumers buy are imported. this is to include companies like GE which are HQ'd in CT but everything they make is made in mexico/malasia.

3. severely reduce/or eliminate the corporate tax....we have the 2nd highest corporate tax in the world, which makes having companies come here(or stay here) very hard.

4 have the STATES offer bigger reductions on property taxes, etc.

No, I don't disagree with all of them, but when they are one on top of another, I say enough. As for credits to buy homes, yes, I have trouble with that..More than some credits..obviously all the tax rebates or stimulous checks people have gotten in the past few years really hasn't done much has it? As for our granddaughter, she isn't stupid, of course she will take it, but she doesn't think it is necessary and is tired of the government giving things away. She knows sooner or later, she will be paying it back in some form. I feel the same about the latest Obama plan: give all seniors another $250 because we didn't get a raise this year;;of course I won't give it back, wouldn't know how to if I wanted to, but I don't think it is necessary. The formula, that is used gave us no increase this coming year. That should be the end of it. Most seniors I know agree with me on this.

That depends. Right now, we're paying for the debt. A sixteen year old will be paying in a couple years. A two year old infant may not. It depends how fast we get control of the budget.

Or do you believe in going further and further into debt?
No. I also don't believe in simplistic "think of the children" chorus lines.

The granddaughter was speaking for herself just like I was speaking for myself. If you indeed want to pretend we speak for "all homebuyers" then that sounds like your problem..

How would she fill her tank, anyway? I don't think even the most economical car can make it from Reno to Mexico on a tank of gas.
You do understand that if the government hands me a "stimulus" check I can simply go buy a tv that was made in Mexic right? I dont need to actually "drive to Mexico" to send my money there..

You must have failed accounting because if a company employes 1,000 people in america and receives a "credit" based upon the number of employees HERE, they have to KEEP those jobs HERE to get the credit.. If they move their company to Mexico they dont get the credits because Mexican companies DONT PAY TAXES to the US Government. A credit to corporations ONLY go to those corporations that pay taxes HERE..

I just want to say that if the other poster has me working in the gardens of parks, I'll be needing more medical insurance. And since I'll only be offered a pain pill, seeing as how I'm old and expendable, I think I'll pass on the geezer gardening.

Jeez, why not just have us babysit your kids (maybe we can unindoctrinate them)? Or maybe send us off to fight the Taliban?

Geezers...doing the jobs Gen Y won't do.

You must have failed reading comprehension because I wrote nothing about tax credits targeted at US job creation. I was discussing the corporate tax rate.

1 year tax holiday. More people keeping more money equals more spending.

I'm going to stop responding to you until you take your medication. Your "sarcasm" isnt really "sarcasm" its more of an effort to just post nothing and then argue with yourself..
