Ok, what the heck is "White America"? I always considered America to be multiracial in makeup and one of the things that makes this a melting pot with a wide range of races and cultures, something we should be proud of.

It is interesting however to see a foreigner start such a discussion, I wonder about his motivation.

Emmanuel Celler of New York, Philip Hart of Michigan and Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts all Democrats. Republicans tried to veto the Act, but the Democrats controlled Congress, so it passed.
Ted Kennedy said of the bill that;
"First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually......" - Well that's exactly what happend, America's cities were flooded with millions of immigrants annually, which is why New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, Sacramento, Boston where all majority white in 1960 and are now all minority white, today. "Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same...." - Another lie before the act the US admitted around 200,000 immigrants per year, today around 1,000,000 immigrants arrive each year. "Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset...." - Another lie, America was 90% white when the bill was passed its now 66% white and its all down to this Immigration Act. "Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia...." - Another lie, Mexico! "In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think...." - Another lie, in 1964, the majority of immigrants came from Europe, in 1966 the majority came from Asia and Mexico. Immigration doubled from 1965-1970 and doubled again from 1970-1990. "It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society..." - Another lie, again whites will be the minority. "It will not change America's ethnic makeup, and that such a change would not be desirable...." - Another lie, did Ted ever win an Oscar?
White America has been lied to it has been betrayed. The Democrats said a change in America's ethnic makeup is not desirable because that is what the majority of Americans wanted, no change they wanted a White America. If history is too racist for you, then I suggest you stick to PC'ing up history, after all thats what most of you do best. I however like the facts.

I guess you overestimate the amount of change that the US will see as its ethnic composition changes. Most people who come to the US do so because they like US culture, so they more or less carry on what has already been there.
And let's face it, the US of the past was not exactly perfect, either. Some change may make it a better place for all.

Why would the Democrats lie?
Where they worried that the white conservatives would not vote for them after they passed Civil Rights act?
Did they plan on changing American voters to suit them?
America is(was) a conservative country, that doesnt work for them.
1964 - LBJ (DNC) won because of sympathy after the JFK assasination
1968 - Swing to the GOP
1972 - GOP
1976 - Carter(DNC) (White Southern WASP) won mainly because of disatification with Nixon and Watergate
1980 - Swing to the GOP
1984 - GOP
1988 - GOP
1992 - Clinton (DNC) (White Southern WASP) won because of high turn out of independents voting for Perot
1996 - Clinton (DNC) (White Southern WASP)
2000 - Swing GOP
2004 - GOP
2008 - Obama (America has changed, all through out that it was changing from White conservative to multiracial) High minority turn out won Obama that election.
America was conservative only voting for the DNC when the GOP had low approval.

It's already a different county than what our founding fathers intended it to be and has been so for many years.
So what is your point? That diversity has weakened the country? Do you propose it would have been better if white people were still the ruling party?
