Yeah we remember... or at least some of us.
Merely remembering often isn't enough. Being able to learn from history is usually a more important thing...

I think things were badly mishandled by the banks and the venture capitalists, because never before have so many unprofitable companies been offered to the public as good investments and touted by so many stock analysts. The financial media explosion of recent years added to this, and the public was woefully misinformed. Ultimately, the public has to take responsibility, but the people who knew better weren't helping educate the public. They were exploiting them.

Nothing. Except that it was eventually taken up for propaganda purposes by the usual gang of liars and deceivers in the right-wing disinformation media who then tried to claim retroactively that there was some sort of a "promise" attached to that number, even though the administration at the time had been warning of double-digit unemployment rates and had been taking heat from the rightwing for using scare tactics over it. Of course, there will always be some people who are taken in by even the most transparent of tricks...

Yeah, yeah...torpedo our balanced budget with tax cuts for the rich!!! Whoo-hoo!!! Yeah, yeah...divert productivity gains into corporate profits while real median wages decline!!! Alright!!! Yeah, yeah...no more bureaucratic red tape and regulation!!! Unleash the engine of American capitalism and we'll all ride down the road to riches!!! Splat!!!

Where are your apologies for having been so hopelessly wrong???

What shred of tattered credibility do any of you have left to stand on in making claims today???

Oh, that's right...I remember now. Things were just rolling right along as pretty as you please, and then this Obama guy got elected and insisted on passing some sort of stimulus plan, and then things just turned right around and headed straight into the dumper. Is that the way that you recall it too???
Hmm I think America elected a Democratic congress in 2006. Barney Frank and his gang are innocent bystanders right? Myopic onesided posts demonstrate ignorance.

Temp worker.. HA I used to do temp jobs over sumemers while home from College. If this is what we are banking on there are many long term, big picture issues with the economy that are not being addressed.

And I like the honesty of the article title : MAY.

Note: Everything in blue was created by Obama's economic team. Looks like they should have made the Y-axis (Percent) a lot taller.

No, not the media, the disinformation media. These are the outlets that err not by mistake, but by deliberately falsifying, misprepresenting, and distorting information for their own manipulative political purposes, often in frenetic and over-the-top tones designed to suggest to the unthinking and uncritical in the audience that without their help in stopping whatever it is, the end is indeed at hand. Here is a handy list of some (but not all) such outlets. These would be good places to pay absolutely no attention to whatsoever...

Fox News, the Wall Street Journal editorial page, the Drudge Report, the New York Post, WorldNetDaily, Newsmax, The Examiner, Free Republic, The Washington Times, anyone featured on TownHall.com, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Real Clear Politics, National Review (including Online), Hot Air, Michelle Malkin, Human Events Online, The Heritage Foundation, Newsbusters.org, Lew Rockwell, The Weekly Standard, News With Views, Sean Hannity, Pajamas Media, anybody associated with The Mises Institute, Atlas Shrugs (et al), The American Thinker, Cybercast News Service, Neal Boortz, FrontPage Magazine and anything else involving David Horowitz, Lucianne, Ann Coulter, The Cato Institue and Journal, Daily Paul, Bill O’Reilly, Redstate.com, Conservapedia, Power Line, Jewish World Review, Daniel Pipes, Little Green Footballs, Campaign for Liberty, The American Spectator, Commentary, GOPUSA, Right Wing News, Wizbang, Day by Day.

Hope this helps...
