The fact that someone is asking this question, and 1 out of every 3 threads in this freaking forum is race related (usually to the tune of how evil blacks and mexicans are), Id say YES.

Is this citydata or stormfront?

I think you are pretty close to right. Yes, many white care as well, but minorities are often more racists or bigoted than majorities. We saw this with blacks in Dallas, and hispanics in NM. I do think it depends on their overall background and education to some degree.

Or maybe it has to do with being the subject of controversy on a regular basis. A White person walks into a room full of whites and he is just another guy. A Black person walks into the same room and he is immediately seen as Black, different. Even the converse is true, thanks to a 250 year mindset ingrained into our society.
It will take a concerted personal effort on the part of each American to retrain their psyches to recognize only the differences that are really applicable to a specific situation.

I agree. It's those little embedded things people don't think about. Such as walking in a room as the "Black" guy or as the "Hispanic" guy. It's always a label and people seem to be distracted by that... it seems like race is always a distraction except when you're White.

You must be a Democrat since you put race into the equation
No, I'm independent. And I live a conservative area of SoCal...Western Riverside County (adj. to OC). Just go on this forum and read some of the illegal immigrant threads. Many of them speak of a "third world mentality" or a "criminal culture". Better yet, many blatantly say "Go back to Mexico" when speaking about illegal immigration in general. So unless all of the sudden there literally is such a thing as "third world mentality" or Mexican culture fostering "criminality" (that has been posted)...then there is a fair amount of racism.

Again, not ALL people are like this...just a higher portion than the average population.

Many republicans. Go on this forum. Yes, I am sure about this.

Wow, a little history lesson. Racialization of Hispanics occurred by Whites in this nation. Thus, creating an us vs. them complex. This came more from the conservative right. At one point, Hispanics were "White". So in a sense, Republicans racialized Hispanics. Hispanics took this and claimed an identity. This is where we stand today. If you say "Brown Pride", you most likely are referring to Hispanics.

Again, READ my post. I stated that in SOME circles...meaning SOME people. So instead of this knee jerk reaction and inability to actually believe that said people can exist, realize that this is simply an observation...not an attack.

I think that people are simply people. That whites are just as racist as minorities, but the motivation and methods are different. There are many non-racist minorities and whites, as well. Education does play a HUGE role.

And, as is obvious, you do. Besides, what is "Black race", or "white race" for that matter?
