Why weren't americans this islamophobic in 1941 ? They were just as Muslim as they are now. How did the US get so weirded out over it ? Is it the "phobia of the century ?" There were something like zero Muslims in the USA in 1941. No one cares what someone is if they stay in their own countries. Have you paid attention? Muslims don't get along very well with Hindus either. Look at the problems they've brought on in India.

This is true. Just because the Nazis had the word "socialist" in their name doesn't mean they actually were. They were merely using the language that was au courant in Europe in the first part of the 20th century. As a side note, a part of me can't believe that we are still having this discussion.

Communists and Nazis are both Socialist and both are Fascist. In both systems, people belong to the State, the State decides everything, the State owns the means of production, there is no freedom under either one. They were enemies -- but that was because each dictator wanted to rule the world.

Well, not to confuse you with facts, but the two systems are very, very different in many respects and I would urge you to take time away from the board and read some history.
Firstly, I am not being insensitive to the happenings at Ft. Hood.. my heart goes out to the victims and families of all involved.
Secondly, supposedly, there were 300 soldier in this room/building.. 300 ! All well trained and most awaiting deployment to Iraq/Afghanistan. We read the shooter reloaded his weapons which would take approximately 5 seconds to load a new magazine into a handgun and the shooter would have to look at his weapon to do this. Hence, he looks away from his victims. I have a real problem with the lack of 'soldiering' in this issue. With 300 to 1 odds, one would think one or more of the well trained soldiers would have made an attempt to take this shooter down.
I am well aware how fear and terror can diminish skills to a point but only to a point.. these are America's trained military and this leaves me wondering.

They aren't very different. In neither one you are not allowed to own guns, you are not given free speech, you are not given freedom of religion. The state controls the means of production in both and controls the people. Islam isn't much different from those either -- worse because in Islam the state determines your fate after you die.

Pappy was on the right track, it should have read ,the Nazis were fascists, comparable indeed to the Obamanites, they just haven't kicked in with the agressive part of the Obamastapo yet. Good start though. Unfortunately for them, the americans are not as stupid as the germans.
How would an unarmed soldier "take down" an armed man in a five second window without getting shot in the process?
