Good question.---I think we had Germans, in the Military during WWII, but wouldn't swear to it. I'm not sure if we had Japanese fighting against Japan, or not.--- It's a tricky question. I don't know any Muslims, so have no first hand information on how they think. Are they good Americans, that pratice the Muslim faith?? Or does the Muslim faith allow for them to turn on their own country, to support their Faith? I just don't know enough to make an informed call. but good food for thought.

Yes.
To paraphrase the National Rifle Association: religion doesn't kill people, people kill people.

Religion doesn't kill people? Directly, no. Indirectly, yes.

I voted No.

Your trying to make this comparison by religion and by the actions of one man serving. I wouldn't do that. It's usually best to know all the facts before one starts a witch hunt.

They should absolutely be allowed. Diversity is our strength. Only xenophobes would resist colonization by alien cultures.

That is an absurd suggestion IMHO.

Had the shooter been any other religion no one would even be mentioning it...people are just using this very unfortunate incident to justify their own long standing prejudice against Muslims.

Had he been gay rather than Muslim then people would be up in arms over THAT issue.

If he hadn't already happened to fall into an already unpopular minority group he would be labeled as a nutcase and he alone would be held accountable for his actions.

This was the very unfortunate act of ONE individual.

Its a shame so many people are so biased and ignorant that they CHOOSE to see only what they WANT to see rather than coming to a rational conclusion.

JMHO

You have to asks yourselves a question, if the US was attacked by lets say, Iran, would american muslims protect America from their religious breathren.
Most of the terrorists threats in the UK over the last few years have come from British born muslims.
Hasan's actions showed that he would rather murder his comrades in arms than protect his country against it's enemies.
Although Hasan was born in the US, Islam takes priority over country.

Yes there were many American Germans fighting in the U.S. armed forces. Many of them were more than a couple generations removed from living in Germany however.

The American Japanese is quite another story. If there were any in the U.S. armed forces; I can guarantee they were not fighting on the ground in the Pacific. As far as I know, just about every Japanese person was in an interment camp during the war. Part of this is because most Japanese living in the U.S. at that time were not born in the U.S. and the ones that were did not have a long enough family history generation wise in the U.S. to be trusted blindly. Not to mention it was well known Japan had plans to invade the U.S. mainland. For the most part Germany did not.

There are many Christians who's faith comes before their nation too.
I'd say it goes against what America stands for to refuse someone something based on religion.

I have no issue with racial or religious profiling when looking for terrorists or any criminal but arbitrarilly denying them things is as unAmerican as it gets.

I know many muslim people. Most are just like everybody else and think that the mideast is a hotbed of nutcases.

After all the school shootings do you think we should allow American kids in our schools?
