For a decade we judged the economy on "housing starts" until we suddenly got slapped in the head by the fact that there were more houses than qualified buyers. The same for Autos and appliances. If manufacturing is to make a comeback we need to create demand by getting clunkers off the market, autos, and appliances and putting construction workers to work on infrastructure

That's seemingly what the oil companies did with their big tax breaks...

Oh yeah we see how well hes doing with that stimulus there is so much fraud in that its not funny. Giving money to places to give raises not actually hire someone. Then hiring someone and then it actually being less then they reported

How about we try putting money in the hands of the people and see if they spend it.

Business will have to hire if people had more money in their paychecks. Business pay less taxes they have money to hire when customers come spending their tax cuts

What is playing baseketball, golfing or fund raising doing to help this country?

And just think, the next bill they want to pass is cap/trade which by some accounts will result in 3,300,000 MORE jobs being lost..

So I got to thinking. Hmmmm, 1983, who was President then? None other than Conservative/Republican Hero Ronald Reagan....

So I got to thinking. Hmmm, well OBVIOUSLY that must mean that unemployment was HIGHER when he took over and it had been going DOWN for those three years since he'd taken office, right?

WRONG!!!

Reagan took over an economy in pretty bad shape in 1980 and unemployment continued to rise for THREE BLOODY YEARS before he turned it around!!!

Yet...... to you...... Reagan is an economic GOD?!!!!

Obama took over, arguably, a MUCH worse economic situation and the right wants to crucify him for worsening unemployment, even though he's been in office a third as long as Reagan was before HE turned it around!!!

How soon we must forget I guess....
Please don't embarrass them with facts. And whatever you do, don't mention that Reagan TRIPELED the national debt while he was in office. Not even Bush could match that kind of deficit spending, because he managed only to DOUBLE the debt.

Also, Reagan set the rates to 15%/28%/33%/28%, which is pretty much identical to what we have now. Also he INCREASED the lower bracket by 4%.

Reaganomics showed that the end result of cutting taxes on businesses and the wealthy equivalates in the rich hoarding more money. Its already been proven.

Tax savings are tied to INCREASED employment. Do you know the difference between having 1,000 people working this month, and 1,000 people working next month = NO TAXES BEING SAVED..

Its a tax credit for INCREASING jobs..

Yes, and what they ALSO don't realize is that unemployment under Carter was LESS than it was the last two years under Ford...

Proven by who? The rich CANT "hoard" money, they HAVE to reinvest it because if they dont it depreciate. Do any of you guys have a darn clue about the time value of money and how "holding" money = LOSING IT?
