So what? Has Barney Frank ever said people should go to jail for marijuana? Not that I know of. I don't care if he smokes it as long as he is not trying to stick other folks in jail for it. The partner never should have been arrested for it to start with.
I DO have a problem with a member of congress condoning criminal behavior. But then, he's done that before.
Ethically and morally bankrupt - that defines the Democratic party.
It was like a scene from Cops. His partner was prob wearing a wife-beater shirt, and barney played the part of the overweight, blubbering trailer trash, live-in girl friend. The cops never arrest the poor woman, its not really her fault.

Actually Barney Frank is concerned about "states rights" when it comes down to marijuana... He wants each state to decide this while supporting the taking of state rights away when it suits him..
The guy was his lover. I'm guessing ol' Barn had been past the front porch more than a few times, and to say he knew nothing about the plants, or the guy never smoked in front of him.....
Lerts get real..! I think grass should be legal, but that scum barney is a lowlife who doesn't think ruleds apply to him. I understand why he feels that way, because he does get away with everything...
Rep. Barney Frank admitted Friday that he was sitting on the porch of his partner’s Maine home when police came to arrest his partner for marijuana possession.
Frank, responding to new reports that he was present during the Aug. 2007 arrest of James Ready, said in a statement he was unaware Ready had marijuana plants.
According to a police report obtained by MyFoxBoston, Maine police arrested and charged James Ready with marijuana possession, cultivation and use of drug paraphernalia. He pleaded guilty to civil possession and paid a fine. The remaining charges were dismissed last year.

Not only that .. but I think ole Bawney sets a poor example for the gay community all the way around.

He said he wouldn't even know what a pot plant looks like. He also didn't know what bongs, papers, bowls, grow light, grow media, mylar, fans, high electric bills, funny smells, charcoal filters etc look like either.
If things were as Sag said do you really think the cops would have raided his house if all it was was a couple of plants for personal use and a misdemeanor. When was the last time cops spent any effort on or put any time in to busting drug abusers with misdemeanors? Do you think they would raid a house if they only had enough evidence for a misdemeanor?

they bust 18-20 yr olds for drinking a beer...
of course they bust drug users too..
seriously ever been to a college party that got busted? the cops have a load of fun and act like they are superior human beings than the college adults..(probably just jealous they never made it to college) the cops laugh the whole time while they raid the place and laugh and talk about how much fun it is writing misdemeanors to people for drinking beer and socializing... the only ones that cause any sort of public nuisance are the cops usually in those situations, they harass and intimidate them just like they are dirt..
not saying all of them, but a good majority of them let their true criminal selves out of the closet when they feel no one can do anything about it
