Iran tested advanced nuclear warhead design – secret report | World news | The Guardian

They've just rejected a very generous nuclear agreement which, while it would have guaranteed their peaceful use of nuclear energy, it would have temporarily stopped them from going to the bomb. That's why they rejected it. I'm not at all surprised.

The mullahs are racing toward the bomb. Only severe sanctions or the destruction of their nuke sites will stop them. Failure will mean Mullah domination of the region, possible attack to destroy "the Zionist entity", Shahab nuke missiles pointed at Europe, and nuke development programs spreading through the mideast.

Unfortunately we have a weak, inexperienced president. The wrong man for the wrong time. I hope he proves me wrong.

The Iranian nuke is inevitable. There's going to be a point in time when they will start to own conventional warheads, which will obviously point at Israel.

Russia and China want this. With declining American influence, Israel's options are pretty disappointing.

I disagree that it's inevitable. Gasoline sanctions would definitely put pressure on them: US Congress oks sanctions on Iran's fuel suppliers | Reuters
But of course it's up to Obama to use it. That's the weak link.
And targeting their nuke sites from the air would set them back for a long time.

The alternative is worse.

This could very well become a Suez canal crisis of our time, where Britain and France got neutered from their places of pride and new superpowers took the reins

It involves Israel again.

Even Hezbollah wasn't defeated lock, stock and barrel. Air strikes will work if Russia and China have little power. Sanctions always hurt the poor while the rich still make merry or even get richer.

But Russia supplies power to all of Europe. The EU has been reduced to a bunch of school boys who run to Moscow for toffees each time the two Czars throw a fit and turn some pipelines off. That too in winter

China owns American debt.

Only a sea-dividing miracle can save Israel given the state of affairs

Iran is copying Israel in how to introduce nuclear weapons to the Middle East. Israel has never acknowledged that it has any nuclear weapons let alone some of the world's most advanced nuclear weapons. Israel has never tested a nuclear weapon anywhere near Israel or its territories. Now in the late 1970s a mysterious "nuclear" flash was detected 1500 mi from South Africa. South Africa also had several advanced nuclear weapons in its arsenal when Mandela took power. Were these Israel's payoff for a steady supply of Uranium from Apartheid South Africa? Iran may choose to emulate Israel by building an advanced arsenal of bombs but like the good Poker player never showing its hand. After all theses bombs either work or they don't.

I think Israel should take the lead, and work with Iran, and both should allow the United Nations to take a full inventory of both countries' nuclear program.

How's that, for a change? Fair?

Israel has them. It's only fair that anybody else in the region that wants them should have them.

'Fairness' has never seemed to appeal to any of the countries in the region.

Yea, right up your alley. You and Ahmadinajad and his mullahs have expressed a common goal regarding Israel.

That's right. Let 'em all have nukes! It's only fair!

Yes it is. Why should Israel get a free pass?
