Just another reason I pay very little attention to the MSM. But then most of you fall for it and believe it also.

Who is "most of you"?...Certainly not me, I just said that there are two separate kinds of protesters, which was the whole reason that you replied to my post to begin with. Oh wait I get it, you are the only one who see's through what the "liberal" media is supposedly conspiring to portray? You against the world. Gotcha.

I was wondering what she was talking about myself..see I took it to mean that when the mid term congressional elections roll around, all of the Dems will be unseated, and thus the Republicans will render Obama powerless..

How is Obama a pathetic man who's going to harm America?

Wasn't Bush the pathetic one who harmed America because if it weren't for him, we'd have less troops dying & our economy wouldn't be in the situation it's in today.

Think about it!!

To be honest the teabag group didnt begin galvanizing until Beck, Galleger, and Hannity whipped them into a frenzy right after Obama took office. I followed the conservative movement pretty closely during Bush's term. The only thing they really objected to during his tenure was the illegal immigration reform and the Dream Act that Bush tried to sponsor. Other than that, all of this "Big evil, Socialist Govt." talk was not happening until Obama took office. Despite the fact that most Americans viewed Bush, his War, and his Patriot Act unfavorably; I still dont recall any of these teapartiers protesting Big Govt gathering during his term, when the bailouts were actually proposed and passed.

I simply cannot believe you could actually say that with a straight face.

Over the weekend, Democratic leaders spoke of an historic moment as health care reform legislation passed the House of Representatives. But that legislative victory failed to significantly move public opinion.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. Most (52%) [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] remain opposed.

Only 25% [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] Strongly Support the plan while 42% [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] are Strongly Opposed.

Support for the plan has remained essentially unchanged for months. Last week, it was supported by 42% [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] and two weeks ago support was at 45% [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS]. It has generally stayed between 41% [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] and 46% [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] since July, and support has bounced above that level only in the wake of nationally televised appeals by the president.

As has been the case for months, Democrats favor the plan while Republicans and voters not affiliated with either major party are opposed. The latest numbers show support from 81% of those in the president’s party. The plan is opposed by 90% of Republican[] [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: LIKELY VOTERS] and 58% of unaffiliated voters (HEY, they left one in!).

Rasmussen Reports continues to track public opinion [OMITTED FROM CONTEXT: OF LIKELY VOTERS] on the health care plan on a weekly basis.
Health Care Reform - Rasmussen Reports™

Oh and by the way...you're in dubious company with the other 12% of people polled who believe opposition to this bill is rooted in racism.
You need to understand something simple and basic about Rasmussen's polling:

They call someone up and ask if they voted in the last election, and if they intend to vote in the next election.

If the answer is 'NO', the pollster hangs up. They don't care about the opinions of EVERY American, ONLY those who say they'll show up at the voting booth.

Now, I'm not suggesting that polling of that nature is bad or doesn't have its place. Immediately preceding a NATIONAL election, for instance, one would care more about what LIKELY VOTERS have to say than people who don't intend to vote.

But when it comes to whether or not the POPULATION AT LARGE either likes or dislikes a piece of legislation, polling ONLY LIKELY VOTERS paints a very skewed AND INCONCLUSIVE picture of ACTUAL PUBLIC OPINION.

To cut to the bottom line, Rasmussen's results in this poll that you are quoting, are MEANINGLESS, as they do not accurately represent a sampling of ALL AMERICANS.

ETA: In case you want to question the veracity of this information, from Rasmussen's site at the very bottom of the cite you referenced:

This national telephone survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports November 7-8, 2009.

The health care bill is the last straw. He is doing everything he can to destroy our great country.

He better pay attention to the tea baggers, because after those dirty, crooked buttheads passed the bill on Saturday, he has opened a whole new can of worms. He is going to see a revolt like he never imagened when he was in the Chacigo mob...!
Your closing remarks give lie to your opening remarks. There's no way in hell that someone who thinks the teabaggers should be paid attention to, and calls Democrats in Congress "dirty, crooked buttheads" could ever have possibly supported Barack Obama.

No, apparently, more than 50 percent of LIKELY VOTERS seem to oppose the proposed legislation. The polls you're relying on are not telling you the whole story, just the slice of it that makes their point seem more accurate.

Wrong. The teabaggers GAVE THEMSELVES THAT NAME, and we on the Left who knew the sexual connotation behind that term, laughed our asses off at them when they did it! Now not only do you want to disavow the name, but you want to cast blame on your political opponents for its use. No can do, bub. You own it!

I did not say solytaire and the rest of the boneheads here. But you did make it clear where you stand. Most intelligent people do see it though.

This is so fun, arguing on the internet. Amazing what boredom will do to you.

Ron Paul often talked about the tax protests during his 2008 Presidential election bid.

You also have websites such as ChicagoTeaParty.com, registered in August 2008

The fact that the media didnt cover them in 2008 doesnt mean they didnt exist, they began in protest to the Bush bailout package.

If you have to point to Bush, to defend Obama, you automatically lose a point.

So he de-legtitimized almost 50% of the House of Representatives and (by some polling) more than 50% of the American people. Apart from the implied obscenity and the callous arrogance of this man one has to wonder about his political acumen. Does he honestly think that the American people will ignore his slur in the next elections?
I have no problem with Obama's sentiments. The negative Nellies and the people who have no interest in seeing America succeed should be ignored as they have NO interest in seeing America do well; they actually WANT Obama (meaning: America) to fail. These people deserve little or NO attention at all. They have hogged up more than enough attention this year.

As far as what people will "remember" when it comes to the next election, it will be whether or not Obama's policies have bettered America or not. If not, voters will look for someone else. Otherwise, Obama has a good chance of being re-elected again (especially if the Republican party continues to associate themselves with the religious fanatics of our country).
