Adjuvants: CDC, Nov 3 2009:

Will the 2009 H1N1 vaccines that are currently recommended contain adjuvants?
No. According to current federal plans, only unadjuvanted vaccines will be used in the United States during the 2009 flu season. This includes all of the 2009 H1N1 and seasonal influenza vaccines that will be available for children and adults in both the injectable and nasal spray formulations. None of these influenza vaccines will contain adjuvants.
2009 H1N1 vaccines with adjuvants are being studied to determine if they are safe and effective. Experts will review these data when they are available. There is no plan at this time to recommend a 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine with an adjuvant.

As it was recently unveiled by the Washington Post, many doses of the new H1N1 vaccine will be stored in multi dose vials which will contain thimerosal. Data from the department of education related to studies from 1992 to 1993 that were comapred to data from 2000 to 2001, reveal that autism has increased in 644% among US children. At the same time, the FDA has never required pharmaceutical companies to conduct proper testing. According to Boyd Haley, the Chairman of the Chemistry Department of the University of Kentucky, mercury is responsible for damages to the mitochondria

But remember, the rise in autism must also be viewed in the context of the changing of the DSM criterion making it easier to get the diagnosis of autistic spectrum. The unreliable part about diagnosing autistic disorders is how subjective the testing is. It is basically the clinician's interpretation of the patient's behaviors. There is no blood test or other reproducible objective measurement that is used to daignose the disease.

Lots of things happened in the past decade or 2 that could be hypothesized as causing an increase this diagnosis: number of vaccines needed, cell phone radiation, increased pollution, better services for those with a certain diagnosis, and heightened awareness of the condition with lots of money to be made for those who identify and treat the condition.
Not sure one can say that vaccines are THE smoking gun responsible for the dramatic rise in autism related disorders.

From the link:

"In the 1990’s the diagnosis of autism was changed to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) – the new name reflecting the changing concept of autism to include a broader spectrum of symptoms, including much more subtle manifestations. In particular a diagnostic entity known as Aspergers syndrome, which is essentially a subtle manifestation of autism features, was classified as part of ASD. Any time you broaden a category the number of individuals that fit into that category is likely to increase."

Oh, not this again! There are no adjuvants or squalene in any of the US flu vaccines. How many wasy can I say none? None, nada, zip, zero, etc.

There is no thimerosol in the H1N1 flu mist or in the single dose pre-fills. Our office has both of these vaccines, so they are available. There is a small amount of thimerosol in the muti-dose vials. It is a type of mercury that is rapidly eliminated from the body.

thimerosal is not an adjuvant. an article about vaccines containing thimerosal is not an answer to a post about vaccines not containing adjuvants.

the headline of that story says that the vaccine contains mercury, squalene, and adjuvants, but the body of the article only supports the claim that it contains mercury (in multi-dose vials, just like the multi-dose vials for seasonal flu, and it's a tiny amount in a form that leaves the body quickly). it doesn't even *make* the claim that the vaccine contains adjuvants and squalene, except in the headline.

it's also interesting that the article claims that the fact that swine flu vaccine will contain thimerosal in multi-dose vials was "unveiled" by the washington post, yet it doesn't link to the post article, but instead to a blog discussing the article. maybe the actual article would ruin the idea the author was trying to convey that the use of thimerosal in flu vaccines is some kind of new thing or secret, when it's the way flu vaccine has been made for years, if not decades.

you should really read your sources more carefully before citing them. make sure they actually say what you claim they say, and not just in the headline. i'd say a source that uses blogs as its sources instead of original news articles and makes claims in a headline that are not supported by the actual story is not one that should be trusted at all.

For those of you out there still thinking the H1N1 has been overblown by the government, and the vaccine is unsafe and unneccessary, my healthy 40 year-old husband who is an avid runner and very fit has been sick for 4 weeks. Myself and the 6 and 9 year-olds all had H1N1 with varying severity, and recovery lengths. This is the sickest he has every been. Don't underestimate this virus, it is nasty. I can't imagine if he was a pregnant woman, I have no doubt having seen it up close, that the outcome would be devastating.
