Sometimes 'simpler' is better. Minding your own business is a simple idea, and just look at how well the complex 'strategizing, leveraging and projection of power and the building of economies' in Iraq and Afganistan has worked out.
Most Iraqis would not make you happy with their answer as would Afghans that aren't living where the Taliban is in control. Those people are not the victims. The people are the victims but the Taliban is just not the good guys.

In Iraq, Democracy is coming along as we wind down troop levels.
Afghanistan, it is more complicated as the Taliban stronghold and power base is across the border in nuclear power Pakistan's tribal region. Without the witherall to go after the source of the problem prevents the problem from adequately being resolved.
That is just the excuse the left likes to use to make Bush look bad. It is very funny that they can't see anything that is going on but the leaders will have them under their thumbs forever, it seems.
"isolationism" is only a bumper sticker catch phrase, like noun verb 9/11 or "cut and run". No one wants isolationism. Projection of power can be maintained with F-22s and stealth fighters still. Strategy is simple: save money by not building bases and having to hire private contractors because your enlisted staff is spread too thin around the world. Trade occurs whether you are a superpower or not.
We have done allot of good in this world through military action. But both Iraq and Afghanistan are bonehead moves. Leave the Middle-East to the Middle-Easterners.
I think your plan would be a good one if the Middle Easterners would agree to leave the West to the West. How do you plan to arrive at that agreement with them?
Chamberlain also didn't advocate a military buildup domestically. Isolationists do not necessarily advocate such measures. Nothing wrong with having the toys...it's just wrong for GIVING socialist money to other countries who want toys. Are you comfortable with being a socialist?

Iraq is a joke and so is Afghanistan. We will be broke as a nation from all of this OCD control everything mentality long before we see democracy in the ME.
I wonder who took that poll? The folks with one name I'm sure. LOL. I guess if these donkey riders would shore up the terrorists themselves we wouldn't even be there now would we genius? You keep coddling terrorists and taliban. Most libs do.
coddling terrorists, what a stupid statement.
How about getting out of their lands and maybe they will not be so pissed off at us?
We will not be sending them whitmans samplers.
