Blacks are the second golden calf after Jewish people in this country. If you say anything negative against either and make your living in the public eye there is a good chance your career will be over. Muslims on the other hand are stereotyped all the time, them and while males are the only ones you're allowed to say something negative against in the US. You can't talk about a Muslims race though. The words racist and racism have been twisted so much I no longer pay them mind, I let the sheeple worry about that crap.
But as far as I am concerned, you can call Southerners anything you want to. But the rural South is a cut above the rest of the country. We are closer to our American roots than the rest of the country. You are just ignorant and do not understand us.
when i visit the south, im always appreciative of the level of respect, hospitality and humility i find there. i agree with you, southerners are a cut above the rest. great americans they are !
i love the dodge. you lite into islam pretty hard-- terrorist accusations. but stopped dead on the comparisons when you got to AA. went on cat feet when you spoke of AA. why the sterotyping of AA. ? exactly why would someone sterotype AA? go ahead say it.
On this forum, it seems like we have the green light to stereotype all Muslims as being potential terrorists and Islam as a demonic faith that preaches violence. We are also allowed to stereotype Blacks as being responsible for every negative stereotype.
Yet when it comes to the South and residents in rural areas, why is it that people get defensive when accusations of racism, bigotry, larger presence of hate groups, opposition to interracial relationships, Christian Evangelicalism, and White Trash cultural references are made? After all, there is plenty of evidence to support these accusations. There are several headlines and incidences that support this like the Louisiana judge who denied an interracial marriage or the states of North Carolina and South Carolina who coninuted to re-elect racist Senators (Jessie Helms and Strom Thurmond) who were openly opposed to Civil Rights. Skin Heads and KKK have also murdered thousands of people.
It seems like a double standard. These same people who criticize political correctness suddenly demand that it apply to them when they are stereotyped. Hypocrisy at its finest!
HUH? What are you talking about? As others have pointed out, Southerners(I am one of those) have been lambasted here on a routine basis. Maybe you need to read a little more to get a better perspective
Southern stereotyping happens here all the time but does the OP know that northeners are moving to the south in droves (myself included)?. Does the OP know there are the rubes and racists in probably every state? I can account for the ones in NY, NJ and Conn.

Liberals on this forum HATE Southerners and mock them constantly.

Maybe you're just frustrated because everyone is tired of seeing the race card every time they disagree with a leftist or criticize BO.
It really dumbs down the conversation when every disagreement is said to have a racist cause.

You just answered your own thread with another stereotype.
But I could also throw out that conservatives on this site mock West coasters just as much. Mention California and you get all kinds of fun stereotypical remarks. Get over it.
It's great to hear so many people engaging in debate but none of you know anything.
how sad.
