You wish a person well because you would want him to wish you the same. These people know nothing of the Golden Rule, do they?

These people are very unkind.

Good grief, the reference is to one verse of the 109th Psalm, not the entire chapter.

But that sentence is 109.9 NOT 109.8. If they wanted to have the whole psalm listed it would have read 109.1-31.

I think you are projecting your hatred of the right wing into this. Someone found a line that could have political interpretations (let another take office) within a psalm and is using it in a way that was reflective of Bush1:20:09 bumper sticker to make some cash.

Yea, and the verse is about someone who will be killed. Why didn't they just have an "Impeach Obama" campaign, and I'm sure there are plenty of other Bible verses saying similar things without the murder of a man.

This is very similar to people the "Tiller the baby killer" campaign.

Please Jesus, come back down and slap the crap out of your followers.
Then let us tax the church into nonexistence.

"8 Let his days be few;

and let another take his office. Acts 1.20
9 Let his children be fatherless,

and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg:

let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath;

and let the strangers spoil his labor.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him:

neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children."

from the king james version link that fopt65 provided.

So fopt65...where does it say "let's hope he doesn't get re-elected?"

"Widow", "fatherless children"....words only used in reference to someone who is DEAD.

It's disgusting that people who would wear a T-shirt with that implied message on it are calling themselves Christians.

I am an atheist and have been doing research on Christianity for a school project for the last month.

I have to say that I really enjoy your religion as an atheist and even feel upset myself when I see people who cheapen the name of a great religion.

omg why is this even a debate?
the people who picked out this scripture to use against obama is basically saying they want him to DIE.

its a simple as that.

Because bellalunatic, the sentence referred to is ONLY #8. That is how it is written.

Here is where the true culprit ($$$$) comes in

Psalm 109.8 T-shirts - CafePress

but they also were anti Bush as well:

Cheney T-shirts - CafePress

Scroll down and check out all of these differnt opposing view points one can order for their t shirt.

See, it is all about CASH. And having people publicize this gets them even more money.
