Who was it that posted last week sometime saying that it is highly likely that GM turns a profit for that quarter? We are in deep trouble, we Americans are being lied to every step of the way from this administration and every entity that has anything to do with this administration. The Govt. will own GM forever, that is reality. Another lie from BO that he will sell GM back to the shareholders.

Understatement of the year.
I wonder, did he keep a straight face?

Someone will be along shortly to tell us this improvement over 2008's numbers is cause for celebration.

G.M. and Chrysler Pensions Underfunded by $17 Billion - NYTimes.com

Quote:
DETROIT — The pension plans at General Motors and Chrysler are underfunded by a total of $17 billion and could fail if the automakers do not return to profitability, according to a government report released Tuesday.
I'm sure this adds to the debacle and desperation to "save" the company.

Wait one freakin' minute.

THe President said that we have turned the corner.

That the economy is on the ROAD (pun intended) to recovery.

He's sounding like a lying bank exec.

GM has been hemorrhaging money on and off for as long as I have been alive.

Considering in 2008 it was more then 6x that amount, it's generally accepted by anyone who can do middle school algebra that is doing a wee bit better.

What this really tells me is how much cutting funding to schools has hurt education in mathematics.

When someone loses a quart of blood one minute due to a gunshot, then only loses a pint the next minute, is that considered "a wee bit better"?

BTW, in the last year every single 0bama/Biden bumper sticker I have seen has been on a foreign car, or truck/SUV, I have yet to see one on a GM, Ford, Chrysler or even a Saturn.

We might have turned a corner, but he wasn't anticipating the hair-pin curve.
