Anyway all Ms. Kerry has to do is call the Bush family...they will definitely know how to handle a booze problem

So does putting on mascara while driving.

One will get you a $100 ticket, the other will result in you losing your license, and in some cases by association, your job...

I don't think anyone argues that drinking and driving CAN be a menace, but we've gone overboard in penalties for lower-level offenders IMO.

Being from a very partisian family she will probably get a Kennedy or Gore lawyer. These families have a great deal of experience in this type of matter.

so long as we agree that reporting on John Kerry's daughter is out of bounds....

we can agree to disagree...

I had a cousin who drank and drove. once.

he distroyed some poor girls life. She is brain damaged and cant do anythign for herself. He ended up killing himself.

I simply make no room for this. the first offense should be harsh enough to make a person never want to weigh the penalty vs. the their drunken need to move from one place to another.

I agree with this. I would support a law that penalizes DUI in levels, based on BAC.

She's a 34 year old adult for pete's sake. Children are out of bounds, not adults.

Yeah I did make an assumption, because I know not to get behind the wheel of a vehicle after I drink alcohol.

If two beers in an hour is "drunk" for some people then they shouldn't be behind the wheel of a vehicle, it is dangerous and that is just the way it is.

Two beers in an hour for most women will cause them to register at 0.08 which somehow has become the legal definition of "drunk".

If you choose not to drive if you've had a drink, have at it. Your choice.

And if you choose to drive after drinking, have at it, your choice. Just don't expect any empathy if you get a DWI because it is a danger to other people on the road.
