The city should really have held on to that real estate - holds a lot of tents.

"The Silverdome is at 1200 Featherstone Drive in Pontiac and seats about 80,300 spectators, according to the city.

The last bid to purchase the dome was about $17 million by H. Wallace Parkerís Silver Stallion Development Corp.

"In 2003, Schostak Brothers Co. Inc., which developed the Oakland Technology Park in Auburn Hills, and its partner, General Development Co., proposed an International Automation Center, a community center, an office tower, a retail power center, restaurants, a high-tech business park and a hotel. They said they would pay $18.5 million at closing.

At about that same time, Etkin Equities bid $22 million, plus a promise for multimillion-dollar development, jobs and a technology park.

In 2005, Etkin Equities and Schostak Brothers withdrew their bids, reportedly because when no decision came from the city, they became involved in other projects."
