easy to think that, but it is not the case: http://www2.cege.ucl.ac.uk/students/...aduate/envmsc/

My engineering degree is primarily in relation to the built environment, but it does not mean I simply 'do air conditioning.' One of my main interests is in geo-engineering.

You are either a climatologist or you aren't. Engineers aren't climatologists.

The greenhouse effect has been accepted by the scientific comunity since 1860! And the FACT that the release of CO2 gas effects the climate due to the greenhouse effect has been accepted since 1896! And since we have been dumping millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each and every year its only logical to conclude that global warming is occuring. Of course to accept this you would first have to become as intelligent as someone in the 1800's, and since many people arent even that, arguing this is pointless. And another thing, you state that global warming has "reached a plateau" but who is to say that it will start dropping? What if it remains stable for a year and then starts to climb again? And besides, I would like too see one way that the release of CO2 and other toxic gases into the air could possibly be a good thing? People in China can hardly breath because of it. And yet there are uninformed, ignorant people like you running around saying that its NOT a bad thing.
Sincerly,
Someone who will laugh at all the ignorant, misinformed people who have no buisness in this deabte when it blows up in their faces 40 years from now.

Come talk to me when you have published an actual scientific paper in the literature, understand principles of valid science, understand statistics, and understand the "n" that creates a valid sample size. I have published over 20 papers in the literature and know a thing or two about what constitutes a valid study. I have actually designed, conducted, written, published, and reviewed actual papers, not journalistic crap.

You, on the other hand, do not know what the hell you are talking about. Your view of "science" is that as the media interpretation of literature. They, of course, know nothing of statistics or a valid study as well.

Don't embarrass yourself.

Numbers don't lie, the people interpreting their meaning do.

Here is an example of how people lie with numbers.

- Bishop Hill blog - The Yamal*deception

As for the ice caps... The Antarctic is above its 30 year average and has held such for the last 2-3 years. The Arctic reached a near 30 year average this year in April and has yet to fall below the 2007 minimum the past years.

As to what that means, you have to listen to what "people" say and well... people lie.

Add to all that, the ocean currents and jet streams have a lot to do with localized warming and cooling. A change in the jet stream caused a warm winter in North America, not man-made CO2, not methane, just air blowing a bit further north then usual. Unless..... unless....OMG.... man-induced CO2 is altering the rotation of the planet earth... we are doomed.....

Yep, a very complex system to which much of its function and effect we still have yet to understand.

That is why they wish the argument to reside in appeals to authority, for if we properly evaluate the issue scientifically, we find we can not establish conclusions as they have.

BWAAAA!!!!

LOLOOLOL)OOLLLOOLLLOLOL!!!!!

You are funny! Thank you!

anyone else see the irony of this post?

dude comes on here ranting. says no one lacking a degree in climatology gets to suggest that global warming doesn’t exist....

I suppose any idiot with half a brain and a 5th grade edumacation CAN come on the forum and tell us all that global warming does exist?

get real.

Let’s review.

The scientists that tell us that the earth is warming and that this warming is going to cause catastrophic effects also told us the following:
1. There are more tornadoes because of global warming
2. There are now more floods because of global warming
3. There are more hurricanes because of global warming.

The problem is the SCIENCE doesn’t agree with the scientists.

1. NOAA says there are not more tornadoes
2. Scientists have published a number of papers saying there is no statistical rise in flooding
3. Scientists have shown conclusively that we are at a 30 year low in hurricane activity.

If the “scientists” are lying about these things, what else are they lying about?

Proof of what science say at the link below:
