You know how the Left always brings up the money "deniers" get from big oil?

Gosh, Mr. Jones and his cabal have done quite nicely for themselves.

They should release all the data they have based their GW conclusions on....so far, they have not wanted to do that.

Is that a normal behavior for a scientist? No. Usually they are only to happy to provide the data so it can be reproduced, which is an important function in the scientific community.

Where's sicky? Anybody seen him the last 2 days?

This is understandable as you and many others have taken the bait "hook, line and sinker (http://www.anelegantchaos.org/cru/emails.php?eid=510&filename=1114025310.txt - broken link)" so I'm sure it will take some time to set in. You have been subjected to "sophisticated behaviour change modelling*" and with the help of media all to eager to suck it up and regurgitate it have been repeatedly bombarded with false information for more than the last decade.

I think Hitler explained this phenomena best:

Quote:
All this was inspired by the principle--which is quite true in itself--that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

—Adolf Hitler , Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X

Power Line - When In Doubt, Delete

Dr. Jones and others discussing how to get around a FOI request and then, a call goes out to delete all the email pertaining the IPC 4th Assess Report.
He details the emails and the back and forth.

Quote:
These emails appear to show that, when faced with a legitimate request under Britain's Freedom of Information Act, these global warming alarmists preferred to delete their emails with one another about the crucially important IPCC report--the main basis for the purported "consensus" in favor of anthropogenic global warming--rather than allow them to come to light. This is one of many instances in the East Anglia documents where the global warming alarmists act like a gang of co-conspirators rather than respectable scientists.
I do believe it would be a crime to delete such documents.

This is the truth. People should have got a CLUE early this year when GW became climate change that something was not quite right.

When Gore declared it a "closed science" something was not right.

A term that could be applied here is "Groupthink". Read the symptoms..each one of them is happening with GW.

It happens all throughout politics and business.
Groupthink is a subject worth revisiting

Groupthink - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Symptoms of Groupthink:
Irving Janis devised eight symptoms indicative of groupthink (1977).
  1. Illusions of invulnerability creating excessive optimism and encouraging risk taking.
  2. Rationalizing warnings that might challenge the group's assumptions.
  3. Unquestioned belief in the morality of the group, causing members to ignore the consequences of their actions.
  4. Stereotyping those who are opposed to the group as weak, evil, biased, spiteful, disfigured, impotent, or stupid.
  5. Direct pressure to conform placed on any member who questions the group, couched in terms of "disloyalty".
  6. Self censorship of ideas that deviate from the apparent group consensus.
  7. Illusions of unanimity among group members, silence is viewed as agreement.
  8. Mind guards — self-appointed members who shield the group from dissenting information.

Power Line - Global Warming Bombshell

Quote:
Tom Wigley wrote to Phil Jones of the Hadley Centre about his efforts to get the right-sized "blip" in temperatures of the 1940s:

Phil, Here are some speculations on correcting SSTs to partly explain the 1940s warming blip. If you look at the attached plot you will see that the land also shows the 1940s blip (as I'm sure you know). So, if we could reduce the ocean blip by, say, 0.15 degC, then this would be significant for the global mean -- but we'd still have to explain the land blip.
Read on.

What could be the explanation for the above alteration of the data?

It's going to be hilarious when this non-issue dies a well-deserved death. Unfortunately, you wingnuts will have moved on to the next faux outrage, and you won't even realize how foolish you look.

- Bishop Hill blog - The Yamal*implosion

This is an interesting account of the Yamal Implosion, where Steve McIntyre (a thorn in CRU's side, just for requesting data) blows to smithereens the basis (tree ring data) of Mann's Hockey Stick Graph, the tool used by the IPCC to convince everyone that AGW exists.

Rather long but details the trouble and stonewalling that he got from this cabal of GW fanatics "scientists". Once he did get the data...bad news for them.

Some of the emails talk about this.

Have you even read any of the emails? You realize the CRU have proclaimed them genuine? It doesn't bother you that they actually changed data, deleted FOI correspondence, hid their data from peer review for reproducibility, and have a lock on the peer review process whereby only those who agree with them should be heard? That they get millions of dollars in research grants to "get the right results"? When you read post #96, or even the actually email, that doesn't bother you? That they changed the data?

I know it must be hard for some to suddenly realize they have been played for fools all these years.

Of course you wouldn't care. How silly of me.
