The catholic church has the right idea on the matter. The official stance is that God created everything and evolution is the way he did it. In other words, it is a work in progress.

Do you actually believe what you write?

Having grown up in a Catholic household, my mom never pushed her faith in lieu of science.

Are all democrats Cindy Sheehan clones? Basically what you have done is stereotyped and generalized Republicans based off of a fringe demographic.

1) What the hell does education in England have to do with Bush, or Republicans?
2) from the story
Primary school children in England will have to learn about evolution and British history under a shake-up of the national curriculum.

Dont we already teach evolution here? Why is this OUR worse nightmare?
You have to look at the mindset of a person that reads an article about British schools teaching evolution, and it throws the person into such a rage, that they rush to their computer and start banging out a thread to vent and rant about the hated republicans.

ROFLOL

If our are trying to find logic in the rantings of hate, you will not find it.

I don't understand this thread. I was taught actual science in a US high school. Many Americans have won the Nobel prize in medicine, chemistry and physics. Where are people getting the idea that US schools don't teach actual science?

From the article: "It is now compulsory to learn British history in school." LOL, so learning their own history wasn't mandatory before? It sounds like the UK school system has bigger problems than the US system.

There are people on the right like that too, although not as many, they are the non-thinking lemmings, the lunatic fringe, so just ignore them, or just have fun pushing their buttons.

I remember in California in the 1930s and 40s, I was taught about evolution in elementary school. Except for the most fundamental churches, even the churches know there was evolution in the development of man, as modern man could not have lived under the conditions of the more primitive man.

Which is laughable because the bible doesn't say anything about evolution.
What's more, the bible says god created the world and everything in it -- all the plants,
animals and humans -- in 7 days. Hence biblical creationism and evolution cannot both be true.

Unless the catholic church are saying they don't believe in creationism anymore?
