Yes, I am certain the Afghan government will straighten up and fly straight sometime real soon. This collection of scum makes the Soviet puppet government look positively enlightened. What a great contribution our military makes by supporting and enabling these scumbags!

Dotsum personally supervised the murder of 1,200 Taliban Prisoners by locking them in air tight containers while the CIA looked on, wonder why they don't like us?

Cause those 1200 Taliban were mostly Afghanis (how many of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were from Afghanistan? 0? And how many were from Saudi Arabia? 15 of 19? Is that 80% statistic just by chance?) So how many future resistance fighters/terrorists did our local chum Dostum create? How about 1200 times, maybe, everybody has a brother, uncle, father... 5 grand easy in round numbers? We have the world's most state of the art and expensive ( to the point of ****ing up our economy expensive) army, air force, armor, you name it... and after 8 years we can't do more than say, we need another 70 thousand people to bleed for our ghetto lord Karzai so we can say we own the place. And, just like Vietnam, where we got run out by a bunch of raggedy ass farmers wearing blacking pajamas (and I am a former paratrooper), we are getting our asses kicked by some illiterate cave dwellers. Can you seriously posit that if the Taliban had our air power, we would still be there? We are real lucky that Iran hasn't imported Manpads into the conflict or we would be just like the Russians. Bring'em home now.

You have a valid question. In the case of Afghanistan since it served as the home base for AQ we're within our rights to take over the country and make it in to whatever we like. Ultimately radical Islam of the Taliban variety will prevail there so we're really engaged in a holding action for a time to keep radical islam at bay. The longer the better but it's a losing proposition. Unlike Iraq Afghanistan is a country in name only. It's really an assemblage of medieval feifdoms comprised of a completely uneducated populace. The best approach, long term, would probably be containment of the radical Islamic regime that emerges along with selective assassination of its leaders.

Regarding Iraq, we secured a long term military presence in the most volatile region of the world. And in the process we liberated millions from a murderous tyrannt. And we did this in the face of Democrat efforts at home to ensure failure, solely for political purposes. But Iraq had a highly educate middle and professional class. Afghanistan doesn't. I'm more optimistic about Iraq in the long run because the populace is pretty sophisticated but only cautiously so.

The civilized countries of the West, the Judeo-Christian countries, will be at war with Islam for the foreseeable future. It's time people and governments realized that and began to act accordingly.

During his reelection campaign, George Bush and the Republicans didn't give a fig about the troops or their families or any civilians or the American public when he LIED to go to war against a sovereign nation that posed no imminent threat to us. "We need to finish the job", they said. The troops were getting slaughtered, ambushed, bushwhacked. They were being led into traps as if they were blind. The strategy that they were ordered to follow was something out of the Cartoon Network and the entire operation was on a sure path to utter failure. Dubya concealed this from the American public, said that progress was being made, that the troop effort was being effective. He LIED! In the meantime, our troops were being picked off like ducks in a barrel.

What's pathetic is that Bush and the Republicans spent a trillion dollars, a TRILLION DOLLARS, to LOSE to a militarily inferior opponent. Now we're left with the mess. We should PULL OUT completely and consider Bush and Cheney's war a FAILURE.

Time to take more progressive measures to address these problems. The Republican Neanderthal diplomacy and meaningless "shock and awe" displays were an utter failure, no question. It was beyond pathetic.

President Obama is taking care of this matter, and don't you forget it either.

What's pathetic is after 7 years of blood & &$$$ being spent in Afghanistan the only return was the seating of that corrupt, election stealing SOB in a position where he continues to suckle the teat of American taxpayers. Those who like to whine about redistribution of wealth need look no fuether than Iraq and Afghanistan to see prime examples of that happening.

Iraq is over? Would you care to try and explain that to those Americans who continue to be in harm's way there and their families?

We won WHAT? The right to pi$$ more $$$ away on a corrupt regime with NO benefit to the US? Typical NeoConfusd hypocrisy, redistribute wealth half way round the world with zero return while claiming any money spent on Americans is SOCIALISM!
