OK white women choose them also You happy now. So do Hispanics and other races. These type of guys are also present in other races. The thread was about high unemployment of black males. Dont you think it is better for us to point out the segment of our community where most of that problem comes from. Im in the know about these things. I have street creds(or at least I use to) my point is I see women, black and white OK, that choose mates that destroy thier lives and thier childrens lives. These ladies knew ahead of time that this guy was just waiting on a rap contract or to move up in the game and they chose to be with them giving credit to that sort of behavior. I know guys, if women say thats dumb or tacky the fashion or behavior goes away. Its just wishful thinking on my part that the thug culture that has wrecked a good part of our community would go away by what ever means is fine with me
Enemy Country I have been in this environment all my life through my volunteering as a youth and as one who chose a career which has kept me closely connected to the ills that exist in my community. I have been a Workforce Development Specialist in the past for youth offenders and non-youth offenders-I am well aware of the problems that plague my community so you are not the one who can talk to me about not being aware of how my community or people in the community are royally screwing themselves over and over again.
Any woman who invites a man into her home or entertains a relationship without him making any solid commitment to her and her offspring is a foolish and needy woman and yes I have told numerous women that they should not have a man in their lives who are not making a direct contribution to her or her child's success, but all will not change their ways nor their beliefs and I am no longer interested in trying to convince adults about how they should live their lives or what they should believe. All I can do is give them the knowledge and the best practices available and it is up to them to embrace it or reject it.
I have been working with families and youth for over 20 years sir. I am working diligently everyday to equip people with the knowledge to change their outlook pertaining to this thing we call life. I am doing the work I was purposed to do and just not talking about it. My patience has worn thin for the adults due to the many years I have served in this field and what I have learned about adults, so for the rest of my working time I am serving black, white, and Hispanic students in the primary, secondary, and post-secondary schools who are at the greatest risk of not being successful here in our country.
OP posted that the rate was around 30%...I was going to correct him with the latest Federal statistic is 15%...but I noticed the OP stated Black Males...
What difference does it mater if its Black male or a women, middle aged grandma, of a teen girl...15% is not bad for these economic bad times... its not acceptable, but its not 33 %.

take the OP for instance:
34% of .... aged 16 to 24 out of work.....................I bet that more than 35% of that number came from the group 16-18...who would NOT be working anyhow..they would be in school
so if we were to take the statistic of 18-24...you would find it is close to the national average for all americans

I also wonder how that number would change if you looked into the age 18-24 if you took away those who aren't looking for employment. I know many of my brothers friends are in school full-time and involved in sports or programs and are not looking for a job. My boyfriend didn't work his junior or senior year because he had a very demanding internship that just didn't allow time for a job.
I read the article briefly when the thread first popped up but I didn't recall them saying where they got those numbers from...it surely cannot be new unemployment claims can it? Can a 16 year old claim unemployment?
The nice thing about being older is I don't have to care what I say anymore.
Many young black males are worthless. They're unemployable for a variety of reasons.
Strike one.
Lack of education is one. In to many black communities getting an education is frowned upon because that is acting to white.
Strike two.
Liberalism has destroyed the black family to an extent the KKK could not have dreamed of. Prior to the great society most black families were poor but the family unit was still intact. Today that has all changed thanks to liberalism.
Black boys do not know their fathers. Mama could get a free apartment, free food and money every month but only if the father did not live in the home. What better way to destroy a generation the Grand Wizard asks?
Raising males is hard enough for a middle class two parent family and I can't imagine the hardship it would pose for a single black female living in dumpy housing living on welfare and foodstamps.

I could have understood if you would have said that all males between the ages of x and y were worthless,and gave valid reasons to back your claims up but to target one group over another does not say much for your character.
Ok, where in the hell did you get that getting an education is acting "white"? Is this from hearsay?O r from one of those "afterschool special?" Because obviously you have no ties to the black community as a whole. Lets look at this more closely. If the funding for inner city schools were equal to the more affluent suburbs there might not be such as disparity in education. Also take into the consideration if your high school education is not that great just how long do you think that you will last in college?
Point one
First of all Liberalism means nothing in the black community, as far as I'm concerned it is another political term made up by an opposing party to point blame. As far as the Klan is concerned all they have done in the last 40 years or so is change their white sheets to expensive suits. You mentioned that before the great society black families were poor but intact, when? Between slavery and the lynchings? Question, why were so many blacks poor in the first place? Have you ever heard of "Black Wall St" and what happened to them when they were doing so well? Since you are so willing to blame liberalism on the plight of the black people, who created it? It was blacks or women b/c they were still fighting for the right to vote. Whitemales of considerable wealth created and enforced laws that kept this country divided (even as we speak i.e Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh). Apparently you are not familiar with some of the assistance laws of yesteryear when the caseworker would come by and made sure that there were no men in the household thus picking up where slavery left off further keeping the men from their families. Of course you cannot imagine living in those conditions and surviving, but there are thousands of women (and men) that have successfully raised their children in that environment. My grandmother always told me "what does not kill you makes you stronger"

Snoop may be a role model for some but not for the reasons that you see through blinders. This is a man who had a natural talent and used it to become a millioniare. Don't get me wrong I do not agreed with everything that he does, but the point remains the same he did not go to college but yet he is a millioniare. Would you rather little black boys look up to someone like Bernie Masloff (sp) would has done more damage to more peoples lives than ANYTHING that ANY rapper will ever do. Micheal Jordan, incidentally did go to school (North Carolina) and if I'm correct did finish with a degree and went on to become a millioniare. But tell me what is the difference between him and Bill Gates who also dropped out of college (but never returned) and became a billionare? If a young man is blessed with athletic prowness why aspire to become the best and profit from it, b/c if he goes to college they will exploit him anyway.
It really must be nice to grow old and sprout off things that you know little about, I guess thats why you don't care what comes out of it.
But thanks for your concern, and I'm sure that the thousands of struggling black youngmen who are making positive strides in thier lives don't feel like a "lost race" to be written off by closed minded people such as yourself.

I thank you for your service. I have not worked in this area so I cant speak for how it feels. I dont understand why you are so mad at me but thats ok. I can tell by your post that you are dedicated and we need 100x you to make things much better
