Wrong answer....in order to be pardoned you have to be convicted which means you have to have been tried or prosecuted. Some Confederates were indicted, but received blanket amnesty , they weren't tried.

I haven't read the thread, partially because it's likely to get me more angry than I care to be. I strongly believe that the confederate flag is racist and traitorous. I ask one thing to those who cling to it: the British flag circa 1776 is as much a part of your history as the stars and bars so why aren't you flying that?

Fine, but in order to receive amnesty you have to be vulnerable to something: i.e. treason.

If everything was copacetic, then an amnesty would not have been required.
