Obama Campaign Promises: Ending the Iraq War

"Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months."

Clearly this is not happening. Why is no one holding him accountable?

Probably because he discovered its a bigger clusterf*ck than he ever considered it was.

Obama is ramping up the Afghanistan war on the advice of the same people who, throughout time immortal, will say "give me more troops" in the face of military defeat.

The United States is assured of an outcome like Vietnam in Afghanistan, and Pres. Obama is going to concede to his Generals demands. Moreover, the architect of this failure in Afghanistan, Dick Cheney, growls we need to send more troops now, which is proof that sending more troops is a huge mistake.

Iraq has seen violence levels stabilize. As soon as U.S. troops leave, the rightwing will blame increased violence on troops exiting the theater of operations.
In other words, they complain when there are troops there, and will complain when they leave Iraq.

It was a campaign promise made to be broken they used this to get him elected. As you see there are no more counters on soldier deaths or any negative news to really speak of now! Hmmmm wonder why.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't! No on in their right mind believed he would just take the troops out of Iraq. We needed a timetable, and we needed to enforce it. Giving the Iraqis Carte Blanche was and is a mistake. We should never have gone into Iraq and focused on the original mission in Afghanistan and captured Osama! Who knows where we would be after 8 years on one mission! JMO!

Same reason Obama said they would take a look at NAFTA and consider making some changes and same reason he promised to create 5 million jobs. VOTES and it was only about getting votes. He's every bit as must a puppet of the global masters as was Bush.

He deserves more time. He has only been in office for 11 months.

Jesus Christ. You all really expected him to just get in there and turn everything around in a day or two.
