Naw... The "christianized" military should have just kept out of Iraq and turned a blind eye on Sadam's chemical genocide in Iraq. That is the Christian thing to do, right Nietzschean?
The US did turn a blind eye to Saddam Hussein's "chemical genocide."

It's obvious you have NO clue what Christianity is about. Christianity is based upon the finished work of Jesus Christ at the Cross where He died for the sins of humanity. A Christian is one who has recognized their sinful state and has accepted Jesus gift of salvation by faith. Christianity is NOT about imposing religious-based laws or eliminating science. As far as the Bible is concerned, our society would be a MUCH better place if we followed the principles found in the Bible. It is up to each individual whether they want to follow Christ or not as we all have free will to decide for ourselves.
The reason why the evangelicals/christian fundementalists get a bad rap is because they - for the most part - would like to see a society based on gods laws. Or more accurately, their interpretation of gods laws - not catholics or lutherns and for sure not mormons views on gods laws! No, they think they have the answer and that it is their duty to make sure the rest of us live the lives they think we ought to live.
How does that sound that much different from fundementalists muslims? Of course the christians aren't advocating honor killings or suicide bombings, and that is to their credit. But still, if they had the opportunity for the POTUS to be Billy Graham and VP be that bearded guy from the mega church they would be thrilled beyond measure.
In both cases, seperation of church/mosque and state is something that is seen to be overcome not celebrated.
Whats wrong with a religious group voting as a block. Dont kid yourself, you live in a Christian country and that isnt changing, ever.
As Ive said before the evangelical vote won the Election in 2004. In 08 obama won by default and no amount of energizing the religious vote would have closed that gap. That wont be the case in 2012,. When we start screaming abortion is murder every GD christian in this country will find a booth and pull the ticket.
Evangelicals do NOT advocate stoning unbelievers to death. The whole purpose of evangelizing is to help folks avoid spiritual death. If we did not care about your souls, why would we even bother evangelizing to unbelievers? Think about that.
I have a theory on this point. I dont think that people evangelize out of a genuine concern that anothers soul might be at risk.
It is a stroke to ones ego to get another to change their belief system. By making someone convert to your personal beliefs, you somehow validate yourself and make yourself feel more "right".
There are so many people who agree 100% on moral levels, from all different religions and all walks of life, but an evangelical seeks to have their label "stamped" on everyone's forehead, (as do radical muslims).
Its a PRIDE thing, but as far as I know, thats one of the seven deadly sins?
