We were thrilled when President Obama decided to plunge fully into the Middle East peace effort. He appointed a skilled special envoy, George Mitchell, and demanded that Israel freeze settlements, Palestinians crack down on anti-Israel violence and Arab leaders demonstrate their readiness to reach out to Israel.
Nine months later, the president’s promising peace initiative has unraveled.
Mr. Obama’s own credibility is so diminished (his approval rating in Israel is 4 percent) that serious negotiations may be farther off than ever.
We told you it would be so. We warned you this empty suit was nothing more than that.
but as the Times explains, this one’s made it a lot worse than it had to be — mainly because he’s a diplomatic novice with team full of incompetents (via Geoff A):
The foreign-policy team that includes Emanuel and Samantha Power (at the National Security Council) has ideological interests in getting Israel to surrender.
When Newsweek and the New York Times tells a Democratic president that he’s screwing up foreign policy, it’s time to clean house and start getting professional help.
Well, let's see. Since a Democrat last brought us closer to peace in the Middle East than we'd ever been before, some right-winger came along and told Israel to just do whatever they felt they had to do, that the US would back them up if any real trouble resulted. Then he introduced the "blessings of democracy" to the region, leading to massive electoral victories by Hezbollah in south Lebanon and to outright electoral victory by Hamas in the Palestinian state. And as the result of that, we had to have Israel bomb Lebanon back to a pre-civil war state, and then launch merciless, unnecessary, and unproductive attacks on the Gaza Strip. In other words, the recent history here is just about as good as that in Iraq, in New Orleans, and in the economy. As the result, it will be a long time -- perhaps longer than what Obama had anticipated -- before actual progress can once again be made in the region.

So its not Obamas fault that his credibility has fell in the 9 months since taking office, its another "right-winter" fault..
What right winger would that be and what did they do since obama has been elected to destroy his credibility?
You also have so much to contribute, except the truth.
The Asian Disaster Trip, Iran, Russia, Honduras and the Middle East issue he has bungled are all examples of that "smart power" obama talked about in the campaign.

You mean Bubba, as he was leaving office tried desperately to get a peace deal? Arafat, his buddy, spit in his face.

You know next to nothing of the issues we confront in any of these regions, while standing ever ready to proclaim Obama's next trip to the bathroom a miserable failure. I'd encourage you to engage in some constructive dialogue over such foreign policy matters, but I am quite aware of the fact that you can't, and don't wish to counsel you into efforts where you are only bound to fail.

Arafat may or may not have made a mistake. It was as good an offer as he was going to get on the one hand, and an offer still stacked heavily in Israel's favor on the other. But the point at the moment is how far we moved in eight totally counter-productive years away from being able even to have the discussions that are necessary as precursors to developing the sort of proposals that the various sides could even begin to consider.
All righty then - from what I have read of your posts; and I certain have not read all of them, I would say the answer is no, you know little to nothing about issues relating to the region.
