We see this sort of scenario played out again and again. I don't know what the answer is but it seems that we the people must demand change, get vocal, and VOTE out of office anyone we can until they get the message to keep such people locked up. If need be we should try to impeach judges who let loose such people upon the rest of us, and/or do our best to have fired the "doctors" who say these people are not a hazard to the pubic.

We need to stop jailing guys for trafficking in a few doobies and use jails as the long-term home of people like Maurice Clemmons, not to mention those creeps in California who kidnapped that little girl and held her as a sex slave for 18 years (Phillip and Nancy Garrido).

From what I can see, WA state DID drop the ball on this one. Will anyone come out and admit it? No. Both the judicial system and mental health system are in shambles, not just in this state. They let down these four men and women, who spent their lives protecting their city. WA should be hanging its head in shame for their part in this senseless act.

I agree with you, but I don't think locking up the minor drug offenders is going to make that much difference. I think there has to be a stop to all the paroles and all the winning re-trails or releases because of small technicalities. If someone is sentenced to 20 to 40 years, they serve at least 20, cut and dry...

It was so very sad, it broke my heart, along with the some bad cops out there, there are so many each and every day who do put the lives on the line, to protect and serve, and something like this happens, which could happen in any State. My heart does go out to the familes of the victims. And the coward who did this i have plenty of words for him. The evil in society has no barrier of being color related.
