For example, illegal child sex slavery here in the US is not excusable because it used to be legal at some point in history.
I mean, if I start my own Church which urges people to enslave others....I guess my defense is that in the past other religions allowed slavery.
I wonder what the Fundamental Latter Day Saints have to say on this topic. The example given is just to reinforce the Islamic notion that women and children are a man’s' property to do with whatever he wants. That is a great religion for adolescent males that never have to grow up.
BTW - It is NOT our responsibility to rid the world of evil. If it was we should start at home first. I suggest eliminating poverty and achieving “Liberty and Justice for All” would be a good place to start.

I'm 100% in favor of anything that goes on with regards to consent and personal choices in these matters.
Mutliple wives, eating practices, clothing and so on and so forth I'm fine and dandy with.
However, marrying 9 year olds off to 40 year old guys.....yeah....um....I'm not cool with that.

Amen to that! We have plenty of injustice at home, including a lot of it instituted under the guise of fighting injustices. "Child abuse" is one of the main ones.

Of course I believe it. Liberals hate Christianity, as well as the family and the middle class, as they are the main impediments to the spread of socialism in America. Apparently you did not get the memo from the Frnakfurt School. Witness what the left has promoted over the last 50 years-
1. the welfare state to weaken the family and make the state more important
2. the drug culture to weaken the family
3. assaults against any mention of Christianity or prayer in public places
4. assualts against any mention of God anywhere in public
5. uniform derision of Christianity as a superstition among the liberals (who are mostly atheists, just as Stalin wanted). There can be no loyalty to the state when one holds God in higher regard.
6. Trade policies (NAFTA and China most favored nation trade status) which have destroyed the middle class. Both were creations of Clinton and the libs.
Liberals LOVE Islam, despite its practice endorsing mutilation and subjugation of women, killing gays, and suppressing human rights. They just can't get enough of it. It is a logical ally for the lib in the "fight" against Christianity which somewhat akin to the Allies embracing Stalin in WW2. Sometimes these alliances go back to "bite" you.
Perhaps you should explore the basis of your liberal beliefs and realize that they were based in evil, not altrusim. Of course, you will not explore this, as introspection can sometimes be painful.
