We are coming out of an ice age, people. Has nothing to do with human involvement. It is the natural evolution of our planet.
Before we moved in, Forest fires raged across the forests, without human help to put it out. The smoke, and heat generated was natural. There is less emissions from a car than from a fireplace or wood stove.
But what about 100,000,000 cars, many of which are heavy polluters? What about 1,000,000,000 cars worldwide? What about coal-burning plants? What about oil refineries? What about maquiladoras?
There are 6,000,000,000 people in this planet, most of whom use tons of polluting devices every single day while consuming fossil fuels and using electricity. How can anyone deny that we'd have an effect when our population has exploded at the same time our per-capita polluting went up exponentially?

I like how you lash out at the name calling your side does to Christians and conservatives. Yeah, you're real credible and honest aren't you? Plus it's ok to call GROUPS out, which I did, not the individual right? So move along, nothing to see here.
Those people are so stupid. His movie was important, even if details may not have been correct. The point is he created awareness for our increasing problems. And whether they like it or not, we humans contribute to the problems of our planet, even if our contribution coincides with a cyclical warming phase. One must be quite retarded to think our emitting incredible amounts of gases won't have an impact on the atmosphere. So even people who don't want us to be guilty of anything so that they can continue ruining the world should notice that what we do is at least worsening the natural cycle.
Saying, ah, there have always been cycles like that, is short-sighted as extremes have always led to many people dying and suffering. So millions of people may die because of the current tendency, regardless of whether we humans caused it or only worsened it.
There are already islands off Australia where people are fighting the ocean inundating their land as we speak. They have asked Australia to be allowed to settle there and were rejected. I wonder how long we can maintain this attitude because basically we reject them for egoist reasons and watch them drowning. We might as well shoot them.
Apart from that, Gore did not deliberately lie, he relied largely on scientists and did what the thought was right. Those who do lie deliberately and even commit fraud are the conservatives helping industry and other lobbies.

The facts that you state do not compute for some people. They think that stuff just magically appears and disappears from daily life. Many of them believe that the planet was created in six days. When you are up against that kind of stupidity and ignorance, it is better to ignore them and hope that when mankind is on the verge of extinction, their gene pool will be the ones to become obsolete.

Hummm...a "group" of conservatives, who disavow global warming is even happening, want to strip the award. Not the committee, not an independent body of producers, not a group of learned peers...2 people.
