In the old days tex, the government DID create jobs in a way, have you heard of the "new deal"? Many miles of Interstate highway and many buildings and bridges were built during those old days, mostly created by our Government spending money on our infrastructure, thereby putting Americans back into the workforce.

The link to this website is neither left or right politically. In delves into the facts about the great depression, and of Hoover's and FDR's efforts to restore America. Some may view the efforts as socialist. Personally, I would like to see Obama do the same things, with a expiration date, since he and his administration are spending money (probably faster than they can print it)
It would put some Americans back to work, and in the meantime, figure out how to stabilize our economy, and encourage Corporate America to bring our jobs back from overseas.
Thatwas like work fair and didn't create any permanent jobs at all. It actaully didn;t do mcuh for the econmy that welfare and unemployment doen't do. Right now we could give people jobs satnding on a corner ;pay them and say we created jobs. Its like you go to a banl and takeout a loan to pay your son and then say he now is employed by you. unless the market wants what your son makes at more than your loan ;you lose.
